Anyone have an idea of what a windshield costs for our Tacoma's?

Also, has anyone added the auto dimming rear view mirror to their truck? Any idea of the best place to buy the mirror?

    Thanks.

Thanks for the heads-up. How long did it take you to install? Did you have to pull down any significant part of the headliner?

Simple install on mine with the overhead console (map lights & compass/temp gauge). From what I remember, two screws and a two of Toyota's famous clips to pull the overhead console down and everything you need is in there. Never touched the headliner.

In terms of wiring - we attached ground directly to the body through sheet metal at one of the attachment points for the overhead console. For the Homelink - we wanted constant power and wired it to the map light power. For the auto dimming - we used ignition power to the compass/temp gauge power.

The mirror just slides overtop the original mounting tab (from what I remember). The original mirror was a PITA to get off - a tab/button or something like that to disconnect it. The black plastic piece behind it just helps hide the wiring - it's included with the mirror. Instructions are easy to follow and all wiring is there.

yep easy install 15 min job. star bit removes old mirror replace with new one. tapped into the hot wire for the map lights for the auto dim, used the groud for the map lights as well and for the homelink tapped into compass power worked fine......LOVE IT

This post originally asked for info on which wires above the compass were the ground, constant power, and ignition power. I have updated the post with the info since I have figured it out on my own. Hopefully this will help others.

constant power: map light wire WITHOUT black stripe
ignition power: green wire from compass
ground: map light wire WITH black stripe
