    Winner this week is Pete!

You brought to the table exactly what I was looking for. The ambient in the background and the smoke being lit and brought out with the flash. I wasn't looking specifically for flash but I was hoping someone would go out on a limb and try maybe lighting with a snoot on a regular light or anything really. But we did have some really great entries this week. Congrats to everyone who entered you did a great job!

Sorry about the late and quick answer winner this week. Been busy all morning and got to get busy again. :D

Played with off camera flash for the first time this week. In the end best light was on camera and bounce off ceiling. Starting to wish for another strobe now, and radio triggers instead of onboard flash as a controller. I'm starting to understand some things better and pieces are falling into place here and there. Side lighting for focus and highlights I placed wrinkled waxed paper over LED lights on each side. The LED's were cool enough it seemed OK to use wax paper as a diffuser. The shell is highly reflective (I brush the hell out of it after each wearing) so needed soft lighting.

Alden captoe boots on the Grant last in shell cordovan color #8, commando soles. With a rare and highly prized Horween leather company shell stamp on the tongue exposed to display the Alden logo on the insole. Boot bags included.

That's pretty awesome! I know radio popper. Alien bees, and pocket wizards are the usual triggers but use cactus v5 triggers and love em if you're looking for something cheaper than the latter that works just as well.

Thanks Doug. Shooting a Pentax I'm limited in someways, the Cactus V6 is out now and most everyone on Pentax Forum really loves it, great choice from what I have read. I'd like the fast recharge rate of the Li-ion Godox\Neewer\Cheetah for my use too. I purchased my camera in February to document wolf kills and 2 weeks after I got my camera had a pack circling me at a whitetail kill site at -32F. The pack Alpha was less than 10 feet from me at times, jet black and a good 160 pounds. And I couldn't get the flash to go off LOL. Using a mini maglight in my other hand I got some pics of the deer but the wolves refused to stand still for me while I tried to handle the light and camera. I've learned a lot since then, still working on it.

I do these exercises to learn more than anything, I win every week that I learn something new. And would rather do that then win these contests.

Lots of great pictures coming in, keep them coming!!
