All the talk of MT makes me miss it. Wish i could find a job that paid at least similar to mine so i could move out there again. Spent more time skiing, hiking, and camping then going to school lol. Probably why i dropped out after two years.

As for BA...love my Fly Creek UL1. Got a great deal on it used and been happy with it the bit ive gotten to use it. Its just big enough for me to bring in everything but my actual pack and shoes into the tent and not feel cramped.

Less than two weeks and i depart on a nice 75 mile hike. Not crossing a single road. Want to try to do it in 3 days but i have a feeling itll take four. But ill have enough food for 5 days plus my emergency stash which covers a extra day. Going solo too so really trying to go as lite as i can. Its considered the prettiest section of the PCT so hopefully my camera is up to the task! I suck at pictures though but hopefully will have good ones.

I do like Montana. Especially the Glacier area.

    SHHHH! :spy:

OK, fine. You can visit...but when you leave you have to take 10 CA transplants back with you. We have too many here, need to thin the herd a little.

Got a chance to use my wilderness logics tarp and hammock this weekend in the San Pedro wilderness. This stuff is great and really held up well through hail and rain.

Lets just send them all to Oregon. Can we be happy with that :)

o another note my Western Mountaineering Summerlite sleeping bag just showed up. Man this thing is sweet! Im coming from a North face Cats Meow (circa 2004ish and still a great bag!). SO much lighter and feels like theres nothing to it. Packs down to half the size of the cats meow which is one of the main reasons i upgraded....in a 55L pack size matters :p

Hopefully Sunday i head out on a four day backpacking trip. My planned route starts literally right where a HWY closes due to a forest fire though. So fingers crossed the fire gets under control and i can go on my trip!

    OK. OR it is!

I wish Western still had their store. They make some good stuff and always had a great selection of climbing gear and kayaks.

Yea it is great!!! Anything is bear height when you are camping to be fair. I ditched my msr zoid tent (about 4.5 pounds) for this setup (less than 2 pounds) and never looked back. Check this out Hammockforums.net and maybe this http://youtu.be/6WsBGnwTi00

Fires do have a way of putting a damper on summer camping plans. Hope you get to go on your trip or at least find an alternate route to go on!
I will be heading for the hills too to escape the smoke - all of the WA and Canadian fires have dumped smoke into MT this week. Seems to be settling into the valleys for the most part so I'm heading up high again.

    or a bear burrito

    RTTs!!! :woot:
