I know this is last minute but thus is how it all unfolded:

Basically, I've wanted to go to this place for a while. I just needed to have a reason to be in the area. It turns out that my son is going to the Hog Wild Paintball Event tomorrow. It was last minute & I had to arrange time off at work which I finally did.

My son goes to 2 or 3 Paintball events a year & I always accompany him & we go in my truck. I'll post in the Florida section where the Paintball event is & usually thee's a few TW guys available to offroad. That's how I met Michael Russell last year in Ocala & he took me to a couple spots. It was the Wayne's World paintball event.

I have to be at the Hog Wild location at 9:30. My son asked me to go into a couple of battles with him with my Go Pro so I will.

I figure that we can meet at 1:00 pm "somewhere" near the Compound.

When I went with Wes and a small group, we did find an area off a main trail to do some shooting. An area like that wouldn't be bad for camping. One way in, one way out. Easy to watch and keep the riff raff out.

 

For the meeting spot, Wes, you should have them meet you at that 7-11 we stopped at for lunch/snack that day. It is perfect cause it is straight down the street from an entrance to the compound. Just an idea.

 

With a whole crew of tacos and a couple of these. Last thing I am worried about is rift raff


But anyway we will have to set up a "formal" compound meet in the future.
Maybe it can be as popular as the Tamlando meet.
I can just seeing it being a really good time.

Drilling 1/4" steel without a proper drill press is a pain in the booty. Surprisingly i have only broken 1 bit so far. Just taking it slow and steady.

 

Lowes kobalt pilot tip delwalt bits haven't broke one yet

 

I am at work using what I've got here. Maybe tonight i can buy some of those. But as long as i take it slow they seem to be doing pretty good. Need to drill a total of 16 of these little holes and 2 of the big ones.

 

Damn lol that sucks.

 

Its all good. I am kinda disappointed though. I bought a mini torch with hopes of actually creating 2 bends in this metal. Yeah, that didn't happen. I think a regular old school torch would work, but we don't have one here. So i just cut it and will finish the edges nicely.
