I take mine out and blow it off now and then. If you run ac on recir all the time they will not last as long. Run fresh air through before shutting down.

The whole point is that it is a permanent filter, it's washable just like the engine air filter over the life of the car it will save you hundreds of dollars over paper filters and it works.

With bad asthma and allergies it sounds like a justifiable investment.

Seems like a lot of hot air is being expended talking about cabin filters.

What's wrong with $40 for a washable filter that'll last you the entire life of your truck?

I wish I would've known about this filter 2 years ago.

Let's see... My filters have been lasting about 2-3 years. I've used up my OEM, and just purchased my 3rd filter. At $8 each (that's cheapest I've found) X 3. I'm already invested $32. In three years, I'll be buying another one (and hopefully my last). Not such a bad investment if you ask me.

Have you looked inside where the cabin filter is?

Directly below it is what appears to be a blower fan. The only thing between the blower fan and the outside, is that cabin filter. Without that filter, you'll be replacing the fan and maybe the motor in a matter of time.
