Getting small dents out of hood

I have this one small dent on the hood of my tacoma that just gets to be a pain to look at, its like one small dent. Any one have ideas on how to get these out, can they be pull out, similar to a singular hail damage dent? Dealer or DIY?

 

Definitely DIY. If you go to the dealer, there gonna charge you around $300 for it, when you can do it yourself for about $10 or even free. All you need is a metal pulley like one you get at pep boys, and you pop the hood, and you just push and rub the dent out.

 

Or if for some reason you can't DIY, take it to a Paintless Dent Repair shop. They'll do it up right for about $50-60.

 

I bought this neat lil kit called "pops-a-dent" at the auto parts store. It works with hot plastic (you have a hot gluegun in the kit) applied to a dolly that connects to a puller. Pops everything but creases

 

I took my truck to a pdr man to get rid of all the dents in the hood, plus a few creases in the bedside from a deer impact. Cost me roughly 400.00, but the truck looks as good as new. Stupid acorns, but that's what I get from living in the woods.

What I can't understand is that an acorn, weighing something like 0.00012 of a pound, falling from about 20 to 25 feet can put a nice dent in the hood and roof of my Tacoma, but the same acorn falling on my 88 s-10 leaves no such damage. Curse my Coke-can thin sheet metal! Toyota, are you hearing my cries?!

 

My stock answer to that 1 is Toyota strives to give you as much truck as they can while saving as much weight as possible...what suffers in the equation? The sheetmetal, which is a few gages thinner than your chevy's. This is the ONLY thing that sucks about my truck too. Very thin skinned indeed. Look at a 1st gen truck like mine that's a doublecab: looks substantial, long, tough, even heavy-only weighs in stock at around 3700lbs, mine's about 4100 w/shell, exhaust mod, sprayon liner, bullbar. We weigh less than a Crown Vic!

 

But damn, these 4.0's are quick!!

 

Yup you are-your power #'s are liitle bigger than the Crown Vic's amemic V8 which is around 235HP (copcruizers excluded) and you're a couple hunderd LBS lighter
