It was amazing how quickly the park rangers show up, in Yellowstone, if there is a bear sighting.

word of mouth spreads quickly. plus you can tell if there's a bear jam ahead when there is suddenly no oncoming traffic. The black bear and cubs have been in the same area most of the summer so they keep pretty close tabs on her. I know I always make it a point to let rangers know what I saw and where if its a potential traffic hazard or safety hazard. They're always appreciative of the info.

    Yep, on all, I think?

And that's what I'm talking about rig-wise. I haven't looked into the details fully yet though.

Straight up, a Griz or a Blackie could get in your truck relatively quickly if they want. Only real advantage is ability to drive away.

And I think black bear cubs are just about the cutest thing ever.

SIL & BIL, Did this while on a cruse ship to N. Norway. They put fish or seal skins on the rocks so the tourist can take pic,'s:facepalm:.. You can also do a overnight camp with the bears. A guide takes you out & stays with you in a Freaking tent with clear sides so you can see the bears at night. If they get to close they fire a shotgun in the air & the bears run away only to come back it a hr.or so..:facepalm:

one swipe of a paw and that boat is gone....

The cubs were hilarious. I was talking to one of the rangers and they think (haven't tagged them yet so...) that the cubs are 2 boys and a girl. The girl hangs out pretty close to mom and doesn't stray too far (she's in the pic just to the left of mom). And the boys are pretty rambunctious and always playing, fighting or climbing. They were having climbing contests in this tree while I was there. One cub climbed up one tree and then the other cub climbed up the neighboring tree. Once they were up there they didn't know what to do so one cub swatted at the other and then he would swat back, lose his balance and skid down the tree, then climb back up and it all started over again. Everyone was laughing at them. Then when they decided to get out of the trees and see what mom was up to they had to walk through some pretty tall grasses, taller than them. They'd take a couple of steps then stand up and check things out, walk again, stand up...too cute.

Good, out of here for my 3 day break in about 30 mins. Fishing in Cook Inlet is a confirmed no-go due to forecasted sea state; have to save the 18 hrs for another time. Guess I'll finish up some maintenance stuff on the 6x6 and get the grass cut this break ... then whatever the wife comes up with for the rest.

Any big plans this weekend for you? Did you have the other job interview yet?

No, lazy weekend for us. Been busy the last few weekends and the upcoming weekends are booked.

I did have an interview last night, ended up going well. Met up after work with him, talked for over four hours and had supper with him and his family.

He's a small company that he started a year and a half ago so things are starting to pick up for him. He's going to figure out if it will be able to keep me busy if he brings me on.

It's exactly what I'm looking for, high end finish work, higher quality of work
