    Hey Guys,

I've got a new 2014 Baja with about 900 miles. About a week ago my passenger side electric window starts to jump and skip, so to speak, when it's being rolled up.

This happens when the window is about half way up on roll up and last for about very short time [about 3 seconds or so] and then acts normal for the remainder of the rolling up process. I say "rolling" but I electric windows.

I cleaned the window very well and this stopped for about a day and then started doing it again. Repeated the cleaning process, same result.

All of my other windows are much dirtier and don't have this issue - Double Cab - 4 windows.

Searched the internet and TW and can't find anything regarding this happening to anyone with any vehicle.

My next step is to thoroughly check the insides of the window gaskets for debris.

Do you guys think this could be related to the windows motor? Or maybe the window is off it's tracks a little?

I've never had this happen in a vehicle before and don't any experience with this sort of thing. I will be making a trip to the dealer if I can't fix it with cleaning the window gaskets. . .

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    Thanks.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I just hate the thought of the dealer disassembling my door to fix and then not putting it back together correctly.

I do distrust dealers though. I guess I should get over it.

    Thanks OZ.

I'd bring it in for service. If there is a clutch - it's slipping or it could be gears jumping/stripping. Since It's Brandy new I'd get it fixed and notated now. I'd not want to spend six years like the other Poster said putting up with something that annoying that I spent big $'s. You can always try another dealer if needed. I personally prefer manual cranks for this reason .... but the power wins are nice to have...

If you really don't want to use your warranty. Then I would do this. If that doesn't do it, take the panel off and lube the inside. Good luck

believe me i am the last person who will take their truck to the dealer, but such a new truck there is NO reason you should be having ANY issues with it.

Thanks man. appreciate that - I actually was thinking, damn I'm gonna make a mess!

Thanks OZ, I'll check it out.

Thanks. I'll try the silicone short term, working like a dog these days and short on free time. I will be taking this in for warranty work soon though - no doubt.

Damn, sorry to hear that too. Please let us know how their fix works out for you. I'll post my results when I get to the dealer - may be in a month or so as long as it doesn't get worse.

Absolutely agree. Thanks for your thoughts.

Go the Toyota website and log on with your vin/account. You Can ask a question to Toyota Corp. asking if they aware of this issue, Tell them there are multiple consumer vehicles/complaints and what you should do. You may be able to do this without a login ... Note I'd not use the "ask an owner" page. Go to the contact Toyota page. I've used Email link. They at least answer back... but sometimes not really useful answers.

Just out of curiosity, have any of you guys with this problem tried the silicone liquid on the window gasket as a cure?

Maybe there was a run of dry gaskets or something, as goofy as that may sound. I'm going to pick some up tomorrow hopefully and try it out and I'll let you guys know the results.

Will post results soon. Working a ton of hours right now. Going to try to run by Lowes tomorrow, if I can get off at a decent time, and pick up some of that silicone that Jimmy suggested.

    UPDATE:

Scheduled service appt at the stealership tomorrow morning for inspection.

I did buy the liquid silicon but did not apply as I don't want to hear the dealer say oh you screwed it up with the silicon - typical dealer bs. My gaskets don't feel like the need any lube so we'll see what they say.

I'll post another update on their prognosis of the situation and follow up from there.
