Have you ever walked up to a stranger and started talking to them about their Tacoma?

I was at Lowe's the other day and I saw a couple guys loading up their prerunner with lumber and I walk over to them told them about the suspension TSB. They looked at my like  who the hell is this guy. Then they lightened up and started asking questions about it. Then I found out they had an 08 and they'll probably be up shit creek when they go in to complain.

If so, how did they react?

I never have, but I was at a gas station in the boondocks of northern Wisconsin a few weeks ago and a UPS truck screeches to a stop on the dirt road in front, the driver jumps out runs over to my Taco and says "Man, thats a beauty" He was the owner of a '98 Taco and about to order a new one. He crawled over, under and inside of mine smiling the whole time.

I voted Tacoma people are crazy..

I did approach a guy who had an 07 Tundra (when they first came out) and complimented him on his truck.

In the past when the situation granted a 'greeting' - I would. A long time ago when I owned my 96 - I was sooo into offroading at the time, I'd give them a business card for our local club. Other than that...I haven't seen any Tacomas around much to talk to the owners. I only ever see them in passing..... A guy who I know at work has a TRD - and I told him about the TSB. He went out and got it done right away. :D

i voted the crazy one...but not because i dont talk to people

im not gonna run up to talk to everyone that has a tacoma...because id never get any work done...but when i see the built one occasionally i'll chat up the driver about what theyve got done...

most times its a decent response with only mildly crazy looks to begin with...

i had a guy stop me downtown one day as i was putting money in the meter and ask me about the arb bumper...he had just wrecked the front end i think and needed something and he liked the way mine looked...

I've complimented peoples trucks and have had mine complemented several times.

I've spoke to several people about their rigs (Tacos and FJs) in parking lots before.

I just parked next to my twin. As far as I can tell, he's got the exact same truck as mine (without the mods)

I've talked to a couple guys about our Tacomas. Usually seems to happen when I am at Lowe's also...

I don't think I've ever approached anyone, but plenty of people have approached me about mine! I get people asking how I like it, and oddly enough, plenty of people at the grocery store marveling at the access cab doors.... And, one of my students made the comment "Well, you drive that big beast of a truck." I never really thought of it as all that big!

I work in D.C. close to the courthouse. On 4th street they have parking reserved for officers to park when they have to go to court. There is one who drives an FJ that I'll talk to when I see her. One of the guards at my building has a DC. I've told him about the site, but I don't know if he's been on here.

I only do it if the person has something besides bone stock. In Phoenix, you can see a Tacoma every turn you take, but only some are custom.

But a lot of people come up to me and ask me where I get some of the parts for my truck.

My only experience was with some college kid delivering a pizza to my house. He had a pre-Tacoma truck with a brush guard unlike any i'd seen before. I asked him about it, but he was a real jag-off about it. Treated me like I was retarded for asking.
