    Looks like the wife and I are moving to Idaho next month due to a promotion opportunity within my current employer. Lots of mixed emotions, but great opportunity awaits and can't complain about the location (Boise).

    Same deal with the land rover, he fronts the money and I do the work. It should be nice, just a clean trail rig with tires, suspention, front bumper, skids, sliders, and umm super charger... :D

    Need some opinions. Thinking about buying an 89 4runner for cheap. Its 4x4 don't know the engine and may need minor engine work. Or new bumper for the truck but the wife doesn't want me to get it.lol

    Something like this, you gotta ask yourself, "Do I have the money, time and desire to work on it?"

    Desire and time can be overcome by money by paying a shop to work on it.

    What is minor engine work? New spark plugs and distributo cap? Or we talking new head gasket or new rings and seals? You got white smoke coming out the exhaust or black?

    Can be a great learning experience or could be a money pit.

    What does that do to the runner? Was going to get the ome coils that gives it about 3" of lift and medium dampening rear shocks.

    I think that the 4th and 5th gen guys look for them. With the 3rd gen I think it would lift it over 3". Thank you though.
