I'm linking up with 1boredclerk and designing or rather extending his frame plate to fit dbl cab. He already has the plate template for the other models.

    *It's*

    And don't be an ass!

In hindsight I would have definitely gone with a double cab since the car seat barely fits in my access... ahh well.. Just means on trips with the family the wife gets the miles on her car rather than mine haha

I wonder if they can be cut down and bolted on? Meaning I wonder if the access cab has the mounting points that are needed and all you would have to do would be chop out a section

So I log into tacomaworld at lunch today, as I usually do, for a brief respite from work. I came across this thread - sounded interesting, as many threads do. Having no intention to spend any money today, I spent the next half hour reading the posts, passing the time. And guess what just happened 5 minutes ago. Yep, ordered 'em from Amazon.

Delivery between July 25th - 30th. Will post pics once I get and install them.

Thanks Guys. I hate you all.

I did the same thing, about 6 pages back, lol.

They give you two different length bolts, a 25mm and a 30mm, with no indication (as far as I could tell) as to where to use them. I think I put the long ones in the truck and the short ones in the step.

Maybe someone will clarify (or point out what I missed).

You won't be mad when you get them!

I ordered mine from Jegs, if I'm not mistaken and there was no difference in bolt length. If there were a difference I would put the longer ones in the bars, I know there is enough space in the bars not sure how much space is in the body.

Just got mine via UPS! I wasn't home when they were delivered unfortunately. The Body Armor box it came in was in less than good condition...the cardboard almost fell apart as I was taking them out. The ends had some scuff marks showing bare metal. I'm just going to spray paint them - not worth sending them back. However, I am going to call them to find out what the best paint would be to match the sheen...I'm assuming a flat black Krylon or something.

Anyway, hopefully I'll get them installed by the end of the week - I'll post pics.

Haven't had a chance to put them on yet, but I did call Body Armor. They recommended Rustoleum Flat Black for touch ups. However, I found that the powder coat they put on is kind of in between flat black and semi-gloss. The semi-gloss is a closer match than the flat. Although I may just spray the entire steps the flat before installing...

Yep, no indication. I pre installed the brackets on and then went for to mount them to the truck and suddenly realized, aww shit, I have different size bolts! Took the mounts back off and made sure that the 30's went into the truck.

So, I finally installed them! I used the longer in the truck and the shorter ones in the rail. I was disappointed that Body Armor didn't make a bracket for the front attachment point. While the one bolt works, I like when things are perfect...and thinking about that bracket makes me cringe.

Despite the instructions and other's experiences, I found it much easier to loosely attach the brackets to the rail, and then the entire assembly to the body. I had too tough of a time lining up the bolts in the bracket to the holes in the rail once the brackets were on the truck.

I gotta say, I do love the look.

Got mine installed. The instructions sucks from body armor. Thanks for the tips everyone in this thread. I put the short bolts in the steps and the long ones to the body. I put the bolts on loosley like a few mentioned. That helped a lot, plus having a helper. Body armor should have revised the bracket for the 2014 Tacomas. I will take a pic and also post it here and on on Amazon since that is where I bought mine. So far for the money I am satisfied with my anti door dingers.

They hide the kinda' ugly under carriage very well.

They're sturdy, and I would definitely use them if I was shorter, or couldn't bend my legs as much. I noticed my Mom always uses them when I visit home and spin her and Dad around the block to a restaurant or Lowe's or something.

I don't want to sound like a broken record, but they aren't "sliders" as these would take the under-body at your side panels and door panels off if you hung them up on anything substantial. (edit, and by that I mean the same as any "step" bolted to the body)

But, they are nice, fairly cheap, low profile steps in the non-tubular variety. I like mine :) After it's paid for, I might risk lifting it and welding some sliders on...but that's for another day and another topic.

Quick update: I still get a ton of compliments on these rails. They're holding up very nicely, and I couldn't be happier with the look and functionality.

I do as well. Even with the whitish stains that I thought would come off with overall weather-wear. I need to take them off and repaint them at some point.

Mine are holding up good as well, in spite of the two missing forward bolts on either side and 1x stripped bolts on either side. May try to fix that at some points...
