Stuff and things that make it better.
Looks great. You'll want that AAL in a few weeks when the pack settles.

This....or you could go with 887s to get you closer to 3" and make sure you don't need any top plate spacers.

So I took out my 884 with 1/2" top plates to put some 885x in. I was at 23 1/4 and 23 1/2 now I'm at 22 1/2 both sides. thought I would stay about the same. :/

Why is that? I noticed the 1/4" added 1/2"

Spacers add approximately 2 times their size in lift.

About how much lift would ome 885 springs and no spacers give to a 4.0 v6 AC 4x4 with front skid plate and arb bumper with NO winch? I currently have about 20.5 in from the center of the wheel to the top of the fender..

The front of my truck sits 1-3/4" lower than the rear now that it has settled. I have 885's and a 1/2" spacer in the front, Dakars in the rear. Should I ditch the 885's and do 886's? I want it level to help eliminate my 285/70-17's from rubbing.

Do you have armor? How long did it take to settle? I installed 885 with the trim packer and dakars a little over a week ago. I'm 1" to 1 1/4" lower than the rear depending on the side.

I have been reason through this tread and have gotten to page 42.. Great stuff but I got to ask why so much love fire dakers? Seems like almost everyone is running them.. I have been leaning towards alcan 8 pack hoping for less then 2" lift in the rear. Actually 1.5 would be perfect. Does this sound about right, to get 1.5 inches? With a bit increase in load carrying ability and over all ride quality? It's for my v6 access cab, long bed. Thanks for any info

That's seems odd unless you have weight (bumper, winch, skids) in the front. You shouldn't be that far off. My truck was pretty level with just 1/4" spacers. If you don't plan on adding weight, you could do 887 springs. They longer but with the same spring rate as the 885s. 886s will probably be quite stiff.

I don't have any extra weight on the front, when I first installed the kit in May I was only 1/2" lower in the front and I've noticed it's dropped some so I remeasured and now it's 1-3/4". I knew they would settle but not this much.

Is your spring seat installed correctly? It should be positioned like this. uploadfromtaptalk1405876855749.jpg

Hey guys, It seems like I gained a lot more lift than others (numbers below). The best reason I can come up with is that my stock suspension was badly sagged, front and rear. I think the final height is similar to what others have gotten though.

Here's my experience with the OME lift kit. It took about 12 hours for me and a friend, with 1 large jack, 2 3-ton jack stands, 1 or 2 small jack stands for holding up the rear axle, and a small jack for making minor adjustments on the rear end when installing the dakars. I also had to rent a ball joint puller (highly recommended). It was much easier/faster than hammering (which we tried and quickly gave up).

Truck was all stock to start: '07 DSCB, 4x4, 6-speed, non-tsb rear leaf springs

    Kit installed:
-885 coils with 90021 front shocks, 1/4" top plate spacers (with driver side trim packer)
-CS0474R dakars in the rear with 60091 rear shocks
-SPC LR UCAs set at D setting, with upper ball joint nut in the middle of it's adjustable range.
    -carrier bearing drop

Before-lift height (center of hub to fender):
    Driver side front: 20.0"
    Passenger front: 20.375"
    Driver rear: 21.125"
    Passenger rear: 21.375"

Post-lift ride height (center of hub to fender):
    Driver side front: 24.0"
    Passenger front: 24.125"
    Driver rear: 24.875"
    Passenger rear: 24.875"

I can't comment on vibration yet because my tires need replacing, and haven't had an alignment yet.

    EDIT - additional notes:
Had it aligned (0 toe, 0 camber, 2.0 caster driver side, 2.5 caster passenger side). The difference in caster is to account for the crown in the road. The shop I went to was pretty good, they couldn't get it adjusted to 0,0,3 without messing with the UCA which they said was at a good setting already anyway. They said it would drive like normal with these settings- which it does, possibly a slight pull to left but it's hard to tell.

The front suspension has settled to about 23.5 on driver side, 23.75 passenger side. I'll keep checking it over the next few weeks.

Using the carrier bearing on the DCSB gets the pinion angle to within 1 degree of drive line alignment. Note that this is combined with installing Dakars and OME rear shocks. The same angle *may* not be achieved using stock of other leaf packs.

I did get the diff needle bearing vibration at all slow speeds (identified by engaging 4H and vibration disappears). Planning on installing ECGS bushing sometime.

I noticed the ridges in my inner CV boot are rubbing, even after settling as much as it did. Short term I plan to slide the boot down on the shaft to space out the ridges, and maybe go with the porche/ VW high angle boot sometime in the future.

Yea haha, my spring seat is installed correctly. So are all the others suspension components. Maybe I'll just ditch the 885's for 887's

That's a lot. What do you have in the rear? Stock is around 20-20.5". You're sitting fine in the front.

About 25" in the rear. But I just filled up with gas. Earlier when I was saying there is a 1-3/4" difference I was on E and kinda forgot about it. I still want to be level though, my CV's don't look to have to much angle so I think if I can gain a inch or half inch in the front I'll be happy and my tires will be too.
