No, but I do know that any plastic deteriorates over time, especially when exposed to UV rays. When plastic deteriorates, it gets brittle and cracks. It won't be lasting as long as the rest of the truck. Fact is that plastic, no matter what the proponents of the material say, cannot withstand the abuse metal can. Its better for some things, but not a truck bed. Of course even if the bed were metal, you'd still have the frame limiting the life of the truck. The decision to go plastic had to be for cost savings, because the taco is like every other truck in gas mileage.

You can also add the paper thin tailgate to the list. There are definitely reports on that problem area.

As I've said - my wife bought a Prius weeks after I bought a Chevy. She has yet to do anything but oil changes and tire rotations. The Chevy had a bevy of problems. I was drooling over the Colorado when it was first announced, but then I thought about all the problems I'd been having with my Trailblazer (the SUV version of the Colorado). Got a Tacoma instead.

Welcome to the 21st century my friend! ;) These days they sell cars/trucks that are somewhat aerodynamic to reduce drag and help to improve gas mileage. After all they stopped selling gasoline for 30 cents a gallon about 40 years ago... :p

Please explain why this truck has a vagina and kindly point out the offending sex organ.

The new Colorado/Canyon will be better than what they are replacing but it has to stand the test of time.

I am willing to bet they will be more expensive than Tacomas as well.

I'm a member at tdiclub and I'm not disagreeing with the long term reliabilty issues. Just stating that your figure of 38mpg was not accurate, at least not in my case.

That being said, I traded mine in to get the taco. Needed something to haul with so the VW had to go. The turbo problems that seem to be plaguing the new tdis helped in my decision.

I think it has more to do with the baby unicorn in the bed.

That dipshit unicorn is gonna say the same damn thing about a Hilux. Hell, it's even got one of those girly roll bars mounted in the bed. I wouldn't have one, but the roll bar isn't any different than any other truck accessory people throw on. To each, their own....

    @ river rat 69.

Still not seeing a vagina. Girls do not have a patent on rounded designs. Take our male genitalia for example. Would you prefer it be squareed off at the end? Would you place a square peg in a round hole? I like your pic altering though. +1 for creativity :)
