I just installed my bilstein 5100s with OME 885 coils.

I now see that this is the correct order:

I am now realizing I did it like this:

I did leave the dust boot on so there essentially is still a metal washer where there should be.

Will this cause catastrophic failure or can I let it be?

There is a rubber bushing molded into the bottom of the sub assembly (top hat). The cushion retainer cups around it.

The metal bushing in the top of the dust boot will start to push into the rubber if left for a long period of time.

It may be ok for a little while, but if not fixed that will damage the rubber.

That's what I was thinking. I just hate the thought of using the spring compressors again. Would a shop do it cheap? It won't take them long.

I tried to do that this past weekend. I loosened the lower control arm bolts but the lower control arm would not no down far enough. The bushings were creating too much resistance.

I just got replacement ome nitrochargers and they gave me the same washers shown in these pictures.
I didn't have the lower washer installed at all and it wore out my bushings and wore into the shocks and top plate.
