So back in april of last year i bought a new 2013 Tacoma it was magnetic gray. I bought wheels, tires, and a lift for it and did a few more mods. It was my daily driver but i was getting terrible gas mileage. Ended up trading it in on a new 2014 Lexus IS 250 F Sport. I love the car but miss the hell out of the truck. So im prolly going to trade the Lexus back in and get a new Tacoma. I would rather have bad gas mileage and a good lookin truck rather then a car that sits on the ground lol
i went from Truck to Lexus

Just looking at those wheels and tires will make you lose a few MPG. Keep it simple and enjoy 20mpg like many of us. I think you are making a great decision, it is hard to beat driving around in a nice Tacoma.

If I won the lottery, yes I would have a few nice vehicles in the garage, but my Tacoma would still be driven the most by far.

    Nice car :)

Live and learn I guess. I've done the same thing in the past. I've owned a few cars but in the end I "need" a truck. I've still got the FR-S to play around with on the weekend.

WOW! that was a nice truck. I would have stick with the truck. The car looks nice but for me the truck come more handy.

Good luck on finding your next truck

^ You're living my dream! a Tacoma and FR-S in the garage. I bought a '97 Nissan 240SX brand new and swapped in the JDM 2.0 turbo motor, coilovers, etc. I drove it 10 years and sold when I left Florida for Utah. I miss that car every time I drive the canyons, which is everyday. I will get a FR-S one day soon.

I too am a "Truck Guy" but really want a dedicated fun car. Love the FRS/BRZ twins, and seeing that my family is on it's 3rd Subaru (Had a '13 WRX two years ago) I kind of want a BRZ, but the weak engine has kept me away (I daily a 2.7 Tacoma) so if I got a car, it would need to scoot.

I'm actually embarrassed to admit this on TW, but the local Fiat dealer has been advertising brand new 500 Abarths for $18K  and they have two right now in my desired color at that price.

Only thing, wife absolutely HATES the Fiat and the way they look (She's a Country girl and prefers trucks) but I've always been into drivers cars, had an '88 Porsche Carrera 3.2 when we got married etc...

It's a really fun car to drive. The only thing I've done so far is put a Invidia Exhaust on it. Still need new wheels and tires but that will most likely be it.

Do it big? With an IS 250? Um, no.

Sorry. This is obviously just my opinion, but I would have kept the truck, too.

Good looking car there. Love the red on this car, looks perfect for the FR-S, for some reason the only way I can picture the BRZ though is in that rally blue.

Ouch! $45,000 for a 250? Loaded or not, in my experience, you paid a lot. Could have got a 350 for that!

I had a 2011 Limited Edition G37S (had every option) and I paid $39,300 for it. Much faster, much nicer (the nicer part is my opinion, the faster part is cold hard fact). God, I kick myself for trading it... paid for, too.

Don't get me wrong, the wife has a 2012 ES 350 and she loves it. It's also fully loaded and we got it for $39,200. Lexus' are very nice cars.

Good. I wasn't trying to be offensive. If I was, my apologies. I'm a bit of a car enthusiast.

Wow, $45k for the hairdresser spec Lexus? Hopefully you don't take a bath too bad in this. I wish I had 10 cents on the dollar for every stupid automotive purchase I've made in my life. But if this isn't what you want, I suggest unloading it before it depreciates too bad.

If you get back into a Tacoma the lower monthly payment might balance out the higher gas mileage. If you can break even and drive a truck instead, it's a win.
Not that there is anything wrong with that Lexus, but like most on this site I am a truck guy, and would justify a truck over almost any car. The nicer (and more expensive) the car is, the easier it gets to justify the truck.
