    These are ham 144mHz out the box. With the cap mod you can get it up to business band (15XmHz) and use it on the race frequencies.

    The frequency is dial'able they are not pre-programmed.

    At HAM radio outlet they give you the instructions as well to show you how to do this, and you can also look it up on YouTube. It works good enough for me, I can hear weatherman and other race teams and communicate with other trucks out there. Cheapest option for a race radio I've found so far and it fits perfect inside the cubby next to your shifter
