Did you have to do a lot of trimming to get the 285's to fit?

keep them coming, this thread is exactly what I needed. I've been debating whether or not 2.5" is too much lift. Going to run my 265/70 r16's until they wear out and then probably get some 265/75's. Starting to think it won't look goofy at all with stock size tires. Really eyeing up the OME kit since my non-tsb leafs are shot and need replacing too.

This is exactly what I did. Not regretting the ome kit either. I went with the LR uca's to be safe and love the ride. Running 265/75/16 ATM and soon to be 285. This is a good all around lift IMO

It rubbed in reverse at full crank MAYBE 1/10 the times I reverse, it really depended on how quickly I reversed and the angle of the parking lot. It also rubbed a little entering the shopping centers in my town cause they have steep entries, but that was when I was hauling into the entries haha

But I did a little fix, and now it never rubs

Hey everyone...I'm new here. I have a 2005 dual cab and want to get some wheels/tires for it. I believe I've decided on TRD Trail Teams Edition Black Matte for the wheels (16 inch). What is the biggest tire I can put on those without any additional lift?

The biggest you can get with no suspension is 265/75/16, so if you want a slightly bigger tire than stock (265/70/16) than go for it. A lot of people on here run the 265/75/16 no issues

I took a look at the tires after work and they're actually 245/75/16's (they were on there when I bought it used). So if I put on 265/75/16's, they'll be quite a bit wider, but the same height, correct?

As for the tire, I'm thinking of Goodyear "Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar". 90% of my driving is highway/city so I need something that performs well there and has good wear. But these also have somewhat of an offroad look to them. Certainly not as much as Duratracs, but those just wouldn't be practical for me.

I am also considering a leveling kit.

No. The 75 bit is actually a ratio. So 265/75/r16 is actually taller AND wider than 245/75/r16.

Ah, so the height would increase by 75% of the width increase?

Correct. Width x Ratio = Sidewall height.

Good. The tires that are on it now look puny.

So are you doing a leveling kit or keeping it stock?

I was doing a little research and some people say the 265/75/16 rub... Which I don't understand why cause they're just a little taller not wider. But you may wanna make sure with exactly what you're doing they'll fit.

But even the 265/70/16 looks great, that's what the TRD comes stock with and they're still a change from what you have
