Check Engine Self Test - Cannot be completed until the engine is running.

Oil Pressure Light - Will not go out until the oil oump is putting out pressure( engine running to turn it ).

Battery Light - Will not go out until the Alternator is putting out voltage ( engine running to turn it ).

Air Bag SRS System - Doesn't complete the self test until the engine is running.

all lamps, is the actual lamp test

anything left over is an actual error. the error is, 'key in on position, engine should be running but is not',


so those remaining lights are what would be lit if your engine was ever off when key is
in run position. computer does know it is a pre-start condition so the MIL will not throw a pending code, but the other lights are 'dumb' and just show you what they have

 

My ABS and the trac. control symbol stay on when driving normally in my 2010 Tacoma. How do I get them to turn off thanks.

Find the failure in the system and get it fixed. If they are on while engine is running and going down the road there is a problem.

 

Thanks very much. I have limited my driving of the truck and have an appointment with the dealer this morning. I will post what they do. It is certified so I HOPE it is mort too expensive.

I took it to the dealer and it cost $62.00 to run a diagnostic test and replace a fuse. Too bad I did not look over the fuses more effectively.But the tail and brake likes6t were not woking either. I should have inspected more effectively. But I am very happy It is repaired
. Now I have to check the boat batteries.
