The only place you won't get scratches at Stoney is the main dirt road that leads to the trails. Even then, you might have the occasional rock jump up and scratch/sent your truck. Lol If you wanting to ride trails, you will get scratches. It's comes with the nature of what we do! Lol. Also, I wouldn't go to Stoney by myself either.

Anyway I didn't make a thread in regional section. Name is justin bought a 14 DC TRD off road 4x4 couple months back. Originally from pinson area moved down to Helena couple years ago.
All my friends still up there so I visit regularly.

I went by myself a few weeks ago.....

    Against some advice here btw.

And yes. I scratched the hell out of my truck. No scratches through clear coat but they're still deep and going to take a lot of work to polish out.

That aside, I think it would be a lot of fun in an atv but I won't take my truck out there again. Granted, I only went on the easy trails, mostly because I'm stock height and tires and didn't have any other vehicles with me. The other trails might be different.....

I don't get scratches on the extreme trails. Medium trails can get tight, easy trails are just garbage. In the DCLB, all turns on the easy trails require the front corner to be rubbing brush on the outside of the turn while the opposite back corner is rubbing brush on the inside of the turn.

So could I handle any of the extreme trails without armor, and at stock height? A couple of people suggested I could...

After the bed is at least tacked together im starting on the front and rear bumpers and wrapping this thing up!

Probably work on some of the rust areas along the bed as well but that will be after bumpers and everything mechanical is done!

I'm ready to see the front bumper.. I may get one from you eventually.. Lol but you'll have to make it competitive with the Davez Offroad Bumper price! I think his looks good. And I know yours will!

Yes, you could do some of the extreme trails no armor, stock height. This is based on my last trip out there early spring. Stoney is getting more rutted out, and where you will be most likely to need protection is skid plates. If the ruts have gotten deeper, you would be dragging the bottom of your truck around. I am lifted 2 inches on the front with the TSB springs in the rear with full skids. On the switchbacks, I got high centered on one trip, but the next trip, I was able to get over it fine. My suggestion is to ride with someone who knows the place and then determine if you want to carry yours out there.

Here is some video from last year. If you look at my videos, there are a few for Stoney in there.

So after a hell of a weekend of moving and unpacking my entire life it seems like....I can finally officially say I am moved in! Although no one likes mortgage payments, this beats the hell out of my old apartment. Still have a long way to go as far as getting my garage and tools set up and storage places built, but I have plenty of room to work on my truck. Believe it or not from the pic, my truck actually fits in there by about 3 inches on the top and about 5 inches front and back.

Congratulations! Yeah, looking at the picture it looks like you need to deflate to get in. 5 inches front to back is normal on the stupidly short garages. I am glad I have my backup camera so I can just back it in right to the wall. It leaves me just enough room to get by with the door closed.
