I have a 2014DCSB SB 4x4 sport. I am generally pleased with the head unit for everthing but power. The speakers seem OK. I was thinking on adding a mini amp behind the head unit just to boost the 4 ch output up to around 45w rms. Anyone happen to know the output of the current head unit? ( entune plus NOT JBL). Also anyone know what the factory speakers are rated to handle??

    Many thx!

ps - I was looking at the Alpine mini amp that looks to fit in behind the radio, any thoughts or other recommendations?

I added a clarion xc 1410 amp behind the 2014 head unit. It worked great the only problem was in the winter it was very close to the heating ducts and did auto shut off once on a long highway trip.
That being said I did not use the factory speakers. They are pretty horrible and cheap. (All plastic cage paper core and quarter size magnet lol).
I since have upgraded the amp to a kenwood kac-8405 which fits nice under the passenger seat has high level inputs and cooling fans.
My advice would be to buy 2 pair 6.5 speakers make mounting plates out of mdf and put the amp under the seat.
All said and done I paid 44 dollars for each pair of speakers (energy some discontinued model) 100 for the clarion amp another 100 for the kenwood. Maybe 10 dollars worth of mdf. Even with cost of both amps I am under 300 bux Canadian!
