Nice. Is that the EM or the classic?

Ultra gauge is selling the EM for $69.

    Is that a good price?

i have the classic one which is no longer made. Only difference is the em does metric units where this one doesnt.

I think i paid 60 for it. ( including a rebate they had at the time)

So I got my father's day gift early. She pretty much had to give it to me when the box arrived in the mail with the words ULTRA GAUGE on the box.

Just thought my follow up on my original thread.

    My engine runs at 198.

It will climb to 203 and hang there for a few minutes, and then drop to 195. The stay at 198 for a while.

    Sounds normal, right?

Yeah, Mine hangs right in the middle - UG reads about 184-186 pretty much all of the time!

I use a scanguage. I've noticed the cooling system wants to be at 188-190. I've had it spike to 208 while pulling a trailer uphill, and I've had it plunge to 182 coasting downhill.

The needle stays at dead center no matter what.

When I got the truck the jiggle valve was at 12 o'clock and running 200+ after replacing the thermostat and putting the jiggle valve at 6 o'clock it runs 190. It only got to 200 when driving 70+MPH up a 7% grade with A/C on.

I just had to post my two cents here. Although plenty of people deny that it makes a difference, on my truck reinstalling the original thermostat with the jiggle valve at the 6 o'clock position dropped the engine temperature 12°F. I went from 199.4°F to 186.8°F.

Here is my post in another thread, with Ultragauge photos:

Mine hangs slightly lower than yours (see attached). Didn't budge during this weekend when we drove:

    Modesto, CA > Seattle, WA
    Seattle, WA > Bozeman, MT
    Bozeman, MT > Elko, NV
    Elko NV > Modesto, CA

This screen cap was right before I caught the change to 180K :)
