You won't, practically a 30 year old car that was huge on the race scene. Most have been modded and beat to shit. Very rare to find one that is clean and an owner willing to give them up. Regardless, you're asking for trouble with that car. But hey, your monies.

On the hot rodded Mustang: Could be a good deal, could be a real pile of problems.

I went to lunch with a friend I have not seen in a few months Monday, he is selling his 87 Mustang GT, had it since new and it is bone stock (unmolested). Red paint is faded, but it runs good (doubt he has ever taken it to redline). I asked him, "how much?" he said $7900 and I about shit. I figured $4000 tops. He knows the market but might jump at less. PM me if you are interested.

I picked up 2 GT fox bodys once, they were both 94's. For $800. One was completely unmolested ran like a champ, just needed a new paint job. The other is just a rolling shell, future drift missile. I let my friend drive it one time. He ended up in a high speed pursuit with a Highway Patrol doing 145+ down the interstate. He got away, cause the Highway Patrol lost control, but my poor car was found and crushed. Those cars can be found very cheap, just gotta be careful they will get you into trouble.

I'm kind of lost with the whole speed factor in a old foxbody. They aren't much faster than our trucks lol

I don't see it. The car makes around 220hp how fast do you think it will go, 150 in 5 minutes?

I had full exhaust, full MSD ignition, new intake mani, injectors, cam, etc. I had it up to 135 several times and it still had more. I just didn't trust the tires. It would smoke a taco no problem.

Don't let alex fool you. He drives a 4runner so his arguments are most likely invalid...

Likely true but there's a possibility that I'm correct in my argument that mustangs don't pull bitches, they pull dudes with assless chaps

Some, Suspension and stuff, tires, maybeh some armor.
Mustangs are like that Hot Chick you find at a bar. Some are damn good to look at, everyone wants to take it for a spin or two, but NO-ONE really wants to own that shit.
Way too F'kin high maintenance and expensive...

Some of the fastest street class drag cars on 10" slicks are mustangs with small blocks. These are full weight, full interior cars that turn low 8s in the quarter and even faster in the unlimited classes. There is no doubt if you want drag car, mustang is still one of the best choices. These cars ruled the streets until the big turbo cars in 96- 98 started to hit the drags.
Then you started to see 9 second supras and RX7s. Man those days were fun...
