I just picked up a 2009 Access Cab V6, base model, I also picked up an ebay fog light kit and proceeded to install them. After searching around on the forums I found a couple good guides for installing these kits, but to my surprise when I removed the plastic inserts from the bumper I saw the factory harness and plugs for the fog lights already there...bonus!

Then I went to the dash and removed the blank cover to install the factory style switch that came with the kit, when I took out the blank the factory fog light plug was behind the blank...bonus again!

So with the fog lights plugged in, switch plugged in (lights up green), I went to the front of the truck in hopes of seeing my new fogs lit up...but nothing. When I hit the fog light button I dont hear any relay click, I think Im missing the relay or something else.

    Any thoughts, suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

I just did the same thing. I got factory lights and a factory switch. Plugged switch in, plugged lights in, and they worked. Not sure why it isn't working for you.

I just checked the fuse panel in the engine bay and the factory relay for the fogs is not there, the fuse is there for the fogs, but no relay. I think that's the missing piece of the puzzle. Because my fog switch has power and lights up green.

Im in Canada, maybe the Canadian model is a little different.

I called my dealer, $130 for the relay lol (Canada)

I called the local Ford dealer who have an aftermarket parts department for all makes and models, $25 for the relay and it will be here tomorrow.

I'll update when it comes in.

Fog lights are working! Popped in the aftermarket relay in the engine bay fuse box and all is good.

I'm considering getting a base model and one of the downsides has been the thought of installing fogs from scratch. This is great news, thanks for posting!

Thanks for the write-up, I have an "09" also & would (am) going to do the same, your experience had me wondering so I looked & yes the wiring is in place & the plug is behind the blank. Question? (probably self explanatory when I get the lights) but-- how are the lights secured in the black housing?

I am somewhat leaning toward the factory lights also, in your opinion, how do they compare with the ebay lights? both in quality & price? it seems the ebay ones are all over the place in regards to price, not sure of the quality but many seem quite happy with them, Thanks in advance

They just clip in place of the factory plastic inserts, then there is a small fitting on the back of the fog light over the adjustment screw that also clips in.

You will know exactly what i mean once you have the light in your hand and the plastic insert out of the bumper.

I have a 07 base model and actually noticed today the wires for the fog lights just hanging there behind the bumper.
I didn't think everything was already there so havent really thought about putting in fog lights, but now that it seems so simple, i'm gona look into it!
What are the fog lights you used? have a link to the kit with the switch?
    Thanks!!
