That's $2/lb and not terrible for a one time customer just walking in and buying off the street and buying one sheet. It probably cost them just under or at $1/lb delivered to them in bulk. It also depends on if 4x8 is the stock size the metal shop is getting of if they have to cut it down. A lot of production shops might get larger sheets so a 4x8 sheet would require some labor and tool time to cut to size for you.

Does it have to be that big of a sheet?

I don't know how much I need for the rear bumper, but that is my assumption

I end up standing half the day. Helps my back general comfort. But my desk is raised up too, about the height of a high top bar table

Only reason I ask is because to have a shop cut out a 4x8 sheet is going to cost you a lot of coin . If you can get by with a bunch of smaller pieces . It will be a hell of a lot cheaper . I got a 3'x3' sheet and (2) 4' lengths of pipe for $40 . Go to your metal supplier and see if they have a scrap pile . It's small cut off pieces . Next time I go I'll take a peek at what they have for you.

    Sounds more logical! Thanks man

I just picked up a sheet of luan. Tomorrow I'll rip off the rest of my rear bumper and start making a template.

All my bumper is, is a cover. My actual bumper is the tail end of my frame, so a little plastic piece won't make a difference.

I'd be thrilled to have this made in a few weeks

Anyone here have solar for their house? My house was just run through their analyzing software and I get great sun exposure, and I figured with all the tax credits I am eligible for, and national grids kickbacks, it could be paid for in about 6 years.

That said, I am a little concerned on the lifespan of all the equipment and if you really get the power savings that the company shows you.

I don't, but a buddy of mine made the change about a year ago. Says he wishes he did it sooner. I think he estimated in 6 yrs time it will have paid for itself.

And so goddam many of them are repeats! They go into a computer system. And in a year your going to call and ask something and they wont have it on file.:D

Could make a fortune if you made a generic site that automatically printed them out

Luan is easier. More rigid for mocking up the bumper. I learned that from Cam.

It's crazy. 4 separate 2-page forms for my doctor, 5 contracts for housing, school, etc... $500 in deposits for both housing and school...

I'd go with the 255, then you don't need to regear your shit .

^this. I want to go up to 35s, but it'll have to wait until I regear or run a dual transfer.

Would you have to cut your fenders up to clear 35's or go with fiberglass fenders like the LT guys?

Alex, if you go with the treadwrights. Call them up and ask for them to be made from a 3 ply sidewall tire like a BFG AT or Cooper ST. The pic shows them made from Nitto Terra Grappler, while that is not a terrible tire they do not have much as far a sidewall strength.

Fiberwerxs up front, Baja style trail rig bed out back.

Nitto Terra Grapplers are junk, do what Rob says or blow out sidewalls in the woods.
