What I thought was a blower motor whistle, was actually air escaping through the seal on the sliding portion of the rear window.

If I put the fan on high, it over pressurizes the cabin and the air blows out through the back window making this awful whistle noise.

    Anyone else experience this? Fix?

It happened to me after I had my rear window open.
The window seal is not flush with the glass.
I took a credit card and ran between the glass and seal. (from inside the truck)
    Problem solved !!!!!

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I have noticed that these truck cabs pressurize pretty good with the fan on high, both of my Tacomas were like that. I hadn't noticed any leaks or noises, but the pressure part of the question is normal.

My truck leaks air like crazy! All the door handles leak, the back glass leaks, and most of it comes from the back vent between the bed and cab. These seconds aren'ts sealed

357sig, do you get the whistle from the back window? The air leaks out of the handles is normal.

cabo, what did you do exactly? the gasket itself appear to be seated correctly, its just not flush with the glass. it almost looked bowed out but i haven't hit it with anything.

Do your trucks have a rear vent on the back wall 9you can see it if you look down between the bed and the cab?? I know some do and it's there to help recirculate air in the cabin and also can help prevent pressurization in the cabin. If it's there, check to see if it's blocked or not functioning correctly ???

Mine did the same thing. At first I thought it was vehicle speed related and when I tried to locate the source I pressed on the slider and it went away. A little but later on I noticed that the sound was super loud at a stop light and after thinking for a second on what it could be I reached over and turned off the blower motor that was on high. It went away. No noise on low, slight noise on the next setting and by the time it hits high it's a very loud audible noise. Took it to the dealership and they wanted to replace the whole back window out of warranty as they don't sell just the weather strip for the slider. Decided it wasn't that big of a deal after all. After reading posts here I may try the credit card trick suggested earlier. Will I be able to visually see if the strip isn't sitting properly against the glass though? As I recall visually it looked fine.
