Okay everyone can sleep better now knowing the world is a better place. I just paid $44.96 for the tools.
However, one of the sockets I bought wont be needed so I will be taking that one back.

Here is another way to put it:

Integrity is one of several paths. It distinguishes itself from the others because it is the right path, and the only one upon which you will never get lost.”

    Bone stock. For now.
I'm surprised this was even a thread. If you have to ask the question, chances are you already know the answer.

OP, I'm glad you decided to keep the tools you need.

No worries, all is well. :) They'll jack their prices no matter what, and that's the bottom line. When I look at large companies shafting employees of wages, work, health care, bonuses, etc I feel that is unethical because their bottom line is money only. Things are made to break, and when they break the replacement parts are costly, too, not nearly the price they should be marked at. Our items are generally made in China because these larger companies want more $, so when I can nickel and dime them the way they nickel and dime me I will.

Who said anything about stealing from you? I've never stolen anything from anyone, nor do I need to.

Seems they've been overcharging and supplying their friends with our money for a long while, haven't they? ;)

    That makes no sense.

Depends on you. It is ethical as long as you can justify it and live with it.

The notion of ethics is complete bull shit anyways, so who cares. Ethics differ person to person, community to community, country to country, etc.

It's dishonest and it's wrong. There was a time when I would have done this with no after thought, but not now.

If no one finds out, is it unethical?

... currently dealing with a university ethics board to get a new study approved, and they handed me 20 pages worth of edits...

To take your logic to the extreme , that would then make it ethical for a pediphile to have sex with kids , because he or she would be able to live with themselves , because , well , they are a pediphile
