Ok I figured out the pictures. I know they'll replace a lot more...my leafs were upgraded to the 4 leaf pack at 90k. New rear end at 96k (new leafs changed pinion angle). I swapped out the shocks & struts at 186k, carrier bearing at 172k and too many wheel bearings. Guess I have more incentive to not trade it in/sell it. My son will be driving in a few years...it will be a good truck to learn in.

Btw, does anyone know what a replaced frame does to the value of our trucks?? Before this rot was found kbb & Edmonds had it valued at some crazy $9500?!?

I'm in NY....no e0D here yet. I'm wondering if I can drive to mass or Vt to have it inspected. Truck was purchased in VT. & spent the first 3 years of it's like there.

    Here's another angle.

Funny thing, I washed my truck down religiously the last couple years bc the winters were so harsh.

I got my truck back yesterday after 5-1/2 weeks - 2005 TRD DC 4WD w/66K miles. I must say it looks great and I'm relieved to see the rust gone! No pictures, but I inspected as best I could and there's lot's of new parts there. Truck feels good and "tight", alignment is great, etc. I was glad to see the rear leafs replaced a 4-packs since I had this done right after I bought it (I tow a boat). My 5100's also look level. All in all I am happy...

only 66k miles and frame rotted out is pathetic. at least their taking care of most people. I cant see how they have such a high resale value with frame problems.

Hi I did some reading through this thread but I have some questions.

2006 Tacoma, 137k miles. located in NY. located in CT before me.

I recently went to a Toyota dealership to see if they would fix my rust holes under some sort of warranty. They basically said no and that I could pay them to fix it.

I just bought the truck used in a private sale a couple months back so I wouldn't expect to get a letter in the mail since Toyota doesn't know I exist.

I also went to a body shop earlier this week to get quoted on the fix. He hasn't had time to put it up on a lift, but gave a general quote of $600-900. Which seems high in my opinion (the rust holes aren't that bad).

    What should I do?

I would start by registering yourself on the Toyota owners website so you can track what service bulletins they release for your truck. Also when you do that and put in the vin # Toyota will know you exist. If the holes aren't huge I would just wait it out until Toyota authorizes New York for this service campaign. The holes in the frame would have to be fairly large to affect the structural integrity of your frame. You can go the route of having it fixed and toyota possibly reimbursing you in the future. I however am skeptical of them trying to get out of reimbursing or even covering a frame that say you had cut and welded to patch the damaged areas.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. Have a couple large holes in the area of my front body mounts. Had my local dealer inspect it and send pictures to corporate and them tell me too bad until we authorize New York. The reasoning was limited supply of frames and parts, etc. So for now it's a waiting game, which I'm pretty pissed about since I have a set of 35's in the garage and a relentless front bumper on the way and I don't want to do anything else until my frame is replaced.

Well I feel like I've hit the lottery to the tune of a little over 12k. I bought my '05 in February, got the LSC notification in May and a new frame last week and I couldn't be happier.:D Ira Toyota in Milford did a great job.
Now, how do I keep it looking new? Anyone in Mass. know a good place to get the frame sprayed ?

Register @ Toyota.com and you'll get notices about your truck and can even view its service history, assuming it was performed @ a dealership.

As per Toyota it goes off where the Truck is currently registered.

Ok so I purchased my 06 dbcab about 6 months ago, it spent the majority of it's life in canada. Completely ate up with rust on the frame, got the letter in the mail yesterday, problem is I live in Arkansas. Arkansas is not listed I don't believe as one of the state's and Canada either I don't believe. The letter came from Toyota Canada. Any idea's? I was thinking of just taking it to my local dealer here today and seeing what they say

Yeah, I need to do this as well ... but the closest FF applicator is up un NH. Just dragging my feet to clean and touch up the Frame. I Want FF to do the first application then I'd touch it up myself for a year or so then bring it back ever 2nd yr. I'm low mileage especially in the Winter.

Wrong. The document they sent me stated I could go to any of the current 5 approved states for the inspection and repair. I just happen to live in one of the 5 states. ;)

If you got the letter, then you can take it to any of the approved states/provinces for inspection and repair. Your state isn't obligated or approved for the repairs so they won't be of any help locally.

Got my letter today, inspection WED.

Are they CRC'ing all frames or only ones they deem a problem after inspection?

Here's a pic of my 07 with 40K from a few years ago. I'll get some new pics taken today, no it hasn't gotten better. You can see delamination at the bottom.

I'm just going off what Toyota told me, you probably can do this due to that you are already in a state that is approved....now with what you are saying and please correct me if I am wrong, Toyota will allow someone from a non approved state to go to an approved state to get a new frame or the CRC, if that was the case then this would be a nationwide LSC
