Finally solved the knocking noise from under my truck. It only occurred when turning to the right and occassionally on bumpy straightaways. Turns out that the cab pinch welds were hitting my sliders. Even though there was a 1/8" gap between the pinch weld and sliders, there was enough movement in the body mounts to make contact.

I flattened the pinch welds and the noise went away. I'll eventually replace the body mounts too but this is good enough for now. To say that knocking noise drove me nuts is an understatement.

I'm hoping this is what my brutal squeaking sound is all about.

It wasn't a squeak. It sounded either like my suspension was loose or that someone was banging on the underside of the cab/bed.

Trailgear....When I grow up I wanna be like Boxrocket! :p I love the way the way the TG bumper flows with Adams setup.....We shall see how it flows with mine

I was able to get it for $440 shipped to my door. As much As I wanted to go with Addicted's bumper, I cant fork out that much cash on a bumper right now. This will hold me over for now :D

Rear bumper is next on the list

I could put my spare on the rack and still be able to stuff underneath it, and I would be able to keep a shovel and axe on the bedrack and they not be in my vision while driving. If the rack was big enough you could store stuff under it and if I had a pop and lock tailgate handle it would be fairly safe/inaccessible.

    Damn.

Mine is like a metal-on-metal squeak.

Sounds like it's coming from anywhere just below the passenger side a-pillar, passenger side rocker panel or (hopefully not) inside the passenger side door.

The body mount is right below the rocker panel towards the front of the truck. Correct?

They've already self cleared last summer

And there is at least 1/4" gap between them and the body.

Lastly I'm not going to Lander :(

I think there are 8 mounts, 4 on each side. If it's metal-on-metal squeaking, it would be:

    1. Dash rattle-Stuff foam or similar between the dash and windshield
    2. Passenger seat squeak-I don't have this problem (yet) but I've seen several threads on it
    3. Loose door hinge
    4. Loose trim pieces.

One thing I found after installing the OME kit was that due to the stiffer suspension, it amplified the squeaks and rattles.

If you're talking body mounts, there are 6, 3 per side.

It started around January, 6 months before the OME install. Same sound, nothing amplified. Thought it would just be cold dash related but that clearly isn't the case.

I checked the hinges and that 10mm bolt on the side of the door (connects to the window bracket inside the door) and they're all tight. My seats are modded Subbie seats, all those bolts are tight and it's not the seat themselves. I can try stuffing foam between the dash and windshield but I've never had a dash rattle before... maybe, hopefully, that's all it is. :notsure:

I'm seriously at a loss for this one.

An irritating squeak I used to have came from the cover that goes over the passenger airbag. I could wedge my finger in the gap of the cover and the dash and it would go away. I dont have airbags anymore so I siliconed the cover in place and it doesnt squeak anymore. It sounded like a metal on metal squeak too, like a cricket almost

    Interesting.

I took the glove box out and the inner panel behind it because of the notorious air bag module squeak. But it was rock solid. And a year or so ago I strategically placed ensolite padding on it.

I'll try to have a passenger push on the cover while it's making the noise to see if it alters it in any way. It'll be nice if that's the noise but truthfully it sounds like it's coming from the side more.

The weird thing is, it's not all the time.

Ahh its very possible mine was coming form the airbag module then, since the airbag is gone that would explain the noise going away too, unless the module is not right behind the cover. Just an idea though :)

It pretty much is right behind the cover. Near the lower edge.

Worked on wiring my fuse block today. Haven't had time to completely wire everything to it yet, so I've been doing a little at a time after I get off work. And yes I do need to clean my engine bay lol.
Edit: I'm changing that white zip tie to a black one tomorrow haha I didn't have any black ones and forgot to buy some today
