So how many times did you get pulled over before that happened.

 

Only twice. Both times at night. I can get out of anything though so I got told to hurry up and get it done the first time and the second time I got a warning

 

You really can....it confuses the hell outta me.....

i can as well.... well i have only been pulled over twice since i started driving so...... one stop was complete BS and he could not give me a ticket if he wanted to. other one i just got off with a warning.

 

We poured a slab, so no crawl space. Not sure which framing company, my father in law has been using them for quite awhile. And it's 2,300 sq ft on the 1st level, then it's gonna have a bonus room upstairs that we're gonna go ahead and finish out... It's going to be larger than I thought it would be...

damn son. That is going up quick. Why did you choose a slab out of curiosity? No experience with them but my real estate agent told me when I was shopping around that if something breaks they have to bust part of the slab. Water pipe etc. Of course from hearing some other people talk a slab means no foundation shift and repairs. And less likely to break a pipe. But curious what they told you. I have a full walk in under my house. But from the looks of it. My house will fit inside yours. 2300 Sq ft liveable is gonna be massive for just you and the wife.

Although mine is 1200 sq ft liveable and I wish it was bigger and it's just me.

From what I've heard, the slab far outweighs a crawl space. The odds of a pipe bursting are 1 in a million, slab keeps moisture out, crawl spaces are fuckin weird, got to put less block down, don't have to put a floor down, etc etc etc...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but everything I've seen states the a slab is the way to go...

Also tip of the day ........ You want to save on money, build your house up, not out. A 2 story 2000 sq ft house will be much cheaper then a 1 story 2000 sq ft house

I knew how big it was. But when the framer laid out my house he messed up and laid it out 7' to long on the side with the master bedroom. But I can always use extra room. So I got a larger shower and bigger walk in closet now....

And yes, my father in law is old school!!! I got them blueprints for $20 though... I wasn't gonna pay $600 for electronic plans... Eff all that noise!

 

Hahaha hell yeah. I paid zero for my CAD drawn prints. and that's kinda fucked up that they missed it by that much. Of coarse in this case you don't really care but that's just shitty work. There's no pass on that. Not only is it not built to what you wanted but it's also gonna cost you quite a bit more.

 

Well it's just on that one end... We'll make it work. But it was really tight on that side of the house, and those stairs (going up to the bonus room), were actually tight as well. This has really opened that up a lot... It's gonna work like a champ!

It's like .80 of an acre... It's definitely squeezed on there. But we're gonna make it work. Excited to get off work in an hour so I can go see the progress they've made today...

 

That ain't that small. Better then a zero lot house. Haha
