Try blurring the sky with the stars. Will get rid of the zipper effect. Radial blur works best.

    Nice colors though.

It sometimes helps to number the photos if you want some feedback.

1- Gorgeous color. Too much sky. I would crop about a third of the black/blue out.
2- Again, really nice color. Clouds add nice texture to the sky. Foreground looks OOF. I think this is a great example of a shot that would benefit from a split neutral density filter to give you another stop or two on the foreground exposure.
3- I like the star trails and the lighting. However, the lights in the tree are distracting.
4- I like where you're going with this. Needs more to the right and up. Also, not a big fan of the lens flare.
5- You cannot go wrong with the colors. Just amazing. This needs a bit of the bottom cropped out. Maybe 3/4 of it? Just a sliver of foreground to preserve the grass and other fg elements.

All in, you have some great colors and nice compositions. Good job!

I can't tell if it's a stacked image. If it is, it might be a delay between shots. I know you can set it in some of the new Nikons but am not familiar-are you using an in-camera intervalometer?

Was the drive on the camera set to 2 sec delay? That's why there are gaps. You want it to fire back to back totally unbroken.

Yes two second I have a t3i and it buffers after about 5 consecutive shots. But I think that was on raw and I should've been on JPEG

Nah jpeg is no fun. Haha

You could try doing a foreground shot then a bulb mode open shot.

Can't go wrong with a class 10. There are differing opinions on whether 6 or 10 is correct. But, sooner or later, you'll upgrade so you might as well.

Took these for friends who never went on a honeymoon so they made Ouray the place while there for the Summit. 1st time with these kinds of shots- any critiques are welcome. I realized after the fact that trying to move my watermark was stupid and looks even worse now. Ive since corrected for their copies and removed it

Sorry for the photo dump. Havent really had anything to share recently- been in a slump. Felt good to be outside with new things to shoot. Off to the Houston Zoo this weekend with a buddy. Hopefully I'll get some nice ones there too.

It should do fine. You should be doing 30 second exposures every shot. That's plenty if time to write the image to the card. A bunch of 1 second exposures is to fast for stars really. You must be shooting at super high iso for that

I use class 10 cards though as well.

My 60d hit the buffer after about 1.5 seconds of rapid fire. But that's like 10ish images.
