Forgot to mention with my u-bolt fiasco... went over to Randy's to check out his ubolts... he got the same rear setup minus the shims..... shims the culprit. Mike had me measure the driveline and decided that I should leave the shims on..

flip kit (tapped for bumpstops) ordered and should be here latest friday... crawled under and removed the Timbrens. meausre twice, drill a hole, grab some bolts, mount, and should be good to go.. i may have a 2x(for now), but I got a locker and a flip kit... lol...lol..lol.. the world is my oyster. ... lol

Was probably at the gun shop :D Today's errands consisted of buying rails for my new forend, and then going to the bank to deposit all the coins I've been saving up..

Saw some heavy duty 3M tape I might look for today or some of the clay stuff Neil mentioned. Just need something to temp mount to the pads so that I can move it around the underside to find the best spot. Don't want to spray anything for the test fit...:D

Edit: Just saw your pics have returned Nate!! It's about time!!...:D

    Aloha All!

I saw this forum and wanted to hit some of you folks up. My wife and I are in the planning stages of moving to Oahu, and it would be great to link up with some other like-minded folks to get some advice.

We are both getting out of the military right now and we are planning a move there to go to the University of Hawaii. I wanted to know what areas would be good to consider a rental in. We just want a furnished one bedroom for the first six months until we know where we want to go after that. It's so hard to get an idea of what is good/bad from the internet. Would rather just hear it from the horse's mouth so to speak.

Picked up some of that 3M heavy duty double sided tape to test fit the rock lights (Epic Fail!) Shit don't stick to rubber... I might try the Window Mastic I ordered a while back at Iven's place later to see if that holds it long enough for fitment. It's a gooey f'ing mess to handle, but if it works...it works..:D

Oh yeah...I have some JB Weld I can always try...lmao!

What have you done to your truck lately
Try plastic weld or the marine grade silicone it works wonders. I think got them from Home Depot.

I can't offer much help as I'm not too familiar with rental prices in different areas. But basically the closer to UH you are, the more it is likely to cost.

3m tape will stick to anything. But you have to get it super clean. I mean acitone, then acohol. If acitone is too strong for the surface, then wash with dawn and dry, then acohol. And you are supposed to keep pressure on the tape for at least 10 minutes, and not put any real weight on it for 24 hours. So it's not really meant for a quick test fit lol :D

Yeah...the back of the rubber mounts aren't a solid surface and are composed of a bunch of cross-hatched edges, so the tape doesn't have a solid surface to adhere to. Come to think of it...I might just wrap the whole thing up the sides of the pads...Doh!!:homer: back to the garage! Not a guarantee, but worth trying...:D Some times ya just need to clear your head...and take a nap...lmao!

Think Miles and Dana would be in too.

Group shipping would be all of our shit on 1 pallet...so enough of us would have to go and pick it up one time.

I have a place that can powdercoat for a good price too.
