Dash Light Mod Success

man, ive wedged that little bastard i dont know how many times. ive even pulled out those 2 prongs so it would fit more snug. it just sits in there loosely no matter what i do.

 

I'd just rather have someone that has done it before show me how and teach me how to do it, i have never done anything like that or anything with a circut board, i'd hate to get to that point and just screw up my dash when it was fine in the first place you know.

yeah thanks, idk i thought i set a pretty big range. right now i'm in the middle of the range until sept. then i'll be back in san diego. needless to say i would drive to the person whoever offers. i think once i get back form vacay i'll make it a thread asking for someones labor

 

lol ok im a nub it turns out that I wasnt even trying to adjust the dimmer the other night, It was dark and I was driving down the highway, it turns out I was adjusting the angle of my vent not the dimmer dial. So I feel like a complete dumbass and thought I would post that I did remember to hook up the cable and the dimmer does work... when I actually turn the dimmer dial.

I agree with you in this MOD, I love the way this looks. Here's mine and the dimmer works fine at night I think that during the day it's bright because of the running lights are wired with the dash.

 

I can do this for Nor Cal people. I'm an electronics engineer with a lab and professional equipment. I solder far more difficult things every day. I used to do this for GSXR Gauge clusters. PM me if youre in the area.

I just did mine today, I want to order more lights so i change out ALL the lights from Park to 4x4. It was easy, willing to do it for other folks too.

 

U'mmm I dont know. I could use a new set of metric sockets.

 

Yours is like mine, the redline is not showing as some others. I have to check why.. there is no LED only for the red lights afaik.

 

I think the red led is clustered by the needles and show up like that I think it looks great.

 

I think its because the LEDs aren't bright enough or maybe the color

 

yeah on mine I think it's the color only.. OEM orange + filter showed red, but blue + filter shows very dark purple it seems.

 

Someone in NorCal that can do this is just what I need. Name your price and I'll try to work this mod into my ever growing list.

what did u use for the PRNDL lighting? got any pics from the process of what u did, or did u buy it premade? mine sucks and cuts out every so often and i gotta dismantle it and force the dam light back in

 

I got em off the same guy i bought my dash lights from, he sells bulbs in different kits and hes got a write up on toyota nation just search for blue dash lights and ull find the thread...
