    Hey all,

I just hit 1100miles on my new 2014 Tacoma DCSB off road. the mileage sucks! I am getting about 260 to a tank city driving which is about 13mpg and I was wondering if anybody is getting the same. I am going to take it back to dealer to get serviced about this, anybody have any advice as to what could cause this? tire pressure and lug nuts are torqued and to spec, the alignment is not out of whack, and I am not beating the truck up, just kind of driving normal- no hard brake, no hard gas.

I thought I would be getting 16-18mpg, this is outrageous

    thanks!

Use your trip monitor to calculate your mileage, not the capacity of the gas tank.

that's the weird part, the rpms are really low, 1500-2000, ive never seen the truck go beyond that. could the off road tires affect 3-4mpg?

some of this, a little of that
take total miles driven and divide that by the gallons you put in at fillup.

example 250 miles driven you put 15 gallons in just you would be getting just over 16 1/2 MPG

Reset A when you fill up. Then the next time you fill up divide the number of miles driven by the gallons of gas needed to refil.

    that's how I got 13, 260mptank divided by 21+gallons in tank = 12.38MPG

Are you driving in the city or highway? In stop and go traffic? This can make a huge difference. Lage offroad tires will also make a difference.

yes stop and go traffic 23miles to and then 23miles from work, all city

yes I have the stock off road package tires which seem a little beefier,

I would be amazed to find that this kills mileage down to 13mpg though

    I was getting about 18.5 mpg...then got a 3" lift...went to around 17
then got 285/70/17s, skid and sliders now it is a constant 15.5-16

You shouldn't be surprised by your milage then. Stop and go traffic KILLS your fuel effieciency.

Not in stop and go traffic. Not a snowball's chance in hell to be more accurate.
