This may be a bizarre thread but its Friday night, I'm bored, and the price is right. :D For those who don't like to read more than they have to like me, skip background, scroll down and see bold text.

Earlier today I encountered a very nice stock 2012+ Limited Taco with fresh bath, wax and even tire treatment. We were both at a light heading in opposite directions. I stopped shooting waves at the stock Tacomas because I NEVER get any love in return ("Taco wave"). So I didn't wave at this cat but did look over to acknowledge him. I got a very odd look back - not a bad look, but probably more of a look of intrigue like "WTF is up with that Tacoma, I didn't see that model on the lot when I bought mine!". (And my rig isn't modded any where near as sick as some here.)

So my question is, what kind of looks or comments do you get from straight stock, un-modded Taco pilots if any?

And while we're on it, how are you received by other modded Tacos? I usually get a wave in return from the modded rigs. And I always have good convo with modded Taco pilots when I've approached them.

Note: By "modded" I mean any changes that make your rig unique and personalized. This could be anything from a spacer lift and plasti-dipped badges, to a full on Baja desert runner setup. The modding road is long, endless, costly and addictive - I think we can all spot and differentiate other addicts from those who are content with rolling in a stock Taco (not that there is anything wrong with that BTW).

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Zero. Most are brain dead. I don't understand it. Other drivers, though seem to like it.

I must say this truck kicks swarms of other trucks in the balls and sends them on their way.

I like it a lot and that's what counts.

I often get strange looks when people see my truck at night. I think they might be thinking they just saw a UFO drive past them.

    Is "NoVa" Norfolk Va?

I thought about maybe cutting up some red, yellow and orange mylar and making flames that could be blown from a scoop to catch the wind and look like real fire behind the grill while the truck was in motion, but that might be just a little over the top.

Do you get any odd looks or comments albeit good or bad (assuming that you've modified your Tacoma) from Tacomas that are straight stock.

Well I'm the stock tacoma guy, so sorry if I just don't get it. There's lots of things I don't get. If you wave at me I'll wave back, but I just don't think of all of us being in kind of a club, and I should notice modded or lifted Tacos. Just me.

Don't really care about the whole stock vs modded thing. I've seen many people around here with modded Tacos that always seem a bit higher than life when they point and almost smirk at my stock truck. Neither way it doesn't really bother me...

I'm pretty much a minority down here with a stock truck, no matter the brand. I respect them n all, but don't expect me to be jealous over your mall rig.

Yeah, I get that and wasn't knocking on stock rigs Bro. I notice other Tacoma's modded or not but was curious about others especially those heavily modded (I am not, I run a lift and that's about it).

Totally. :annoyed: I gave up on driving and now rely on public transportation avoiding the I-95 abortion.

Did some wheelin south of Waynesboro last weekend incidentally. If you ever get over this way on 64 and want to hit the Shenandoah Mountains, let me know - I'll tag along and know a few good wheeling trails.

    Waynesboro.....Party Town.....Excellent.....

I used to date a girl from there a long long time ago. I am actually a 1/3 owner of 39 acres of old logging property literally right across the street from Wintergreen Ski Resort.

I get out there to hiking every once in a while.

LMFAO - Nice! Awesome movie back from the day!

10-4. I fly fish a lot of the back-country in this area as well (South River, Rose, Robinson, Rappidan of course, Crapbree Falls, St. Mary's, etc.). I'll IM you my contact info. Shoot me an email a week or two in advance when you're heading this way. If I'm in the country, I'll meet up with you in RVA and we'll push west together.....

Yeah, that's ignorant bullshit and usually points to a penal-deficit-compensation issue. :( This thread wasn't intended to be a nose in the face of stock Tacoma's - Lord knows my rig rolled with no mods for a very long time. (And even now, I have a modest 2.5" lift for wheelin.) I'm all about everything Taco, all gens, most mods, notice other Tacomas and currently own a 1st and 2nd gen so I'm not hating on anyone rolling in a Yoda.

NOVA is the common acronym for Northern VA. (Fairfax, chantilly, etc.) basically its where the stuck up rich people live. And I see you live in VA beach , I live in Windsor which is on the other side of suffolk!
