    has anyone done this without a pump? I am doing those tomorrow and I was just wondering do the bottles not fit in there to fill it? Would I need to go buy the pump?

    You can put a hose in the end of the bottle. No the bottle doesn't really fit.

    just a hose into the bottle. Then what? it magically goes into the front diff? lol

    Hose on the nipple of the bottle, hold bottle out from underneath truck, other end of hose in diff, and squeeze it in, it's to thick to run in.

    That might work if the hose is long enough. I didn't think there was very much space under there. The pump was $4.99 at the auto parts store. If I had to buy it every time, I would.

    Will this oil be good.
    Just noticed it says it has Limited slip modifier included.
    I have a 2012 with limited slip but doesn't call for the added LSD fluid.

    FWIW I've changed my front and rear 3 times so far and been using 85-140 as recommended by ECGS with no issues.

    Sorry for dead thread revival, but I wasn't finding much more info otherwise via google.

    Fill to spill is WRONG for Toyota. I have an 09 and just changed the rear diff fluid. Spec is 3.12 quarts on 4wd models.(page 471, owners manual) Fill to spill was at nearly 4 quarts. I read up some more and ended up draining just shy of a quart. Not sure why Toyota did this, but they do not follow the spill to fill norms on the second gen models. You don't want excess oil running to your pinion bearings or wheel bearings, which will eventually leak.

    Nobody mentioned torque requirements for the drain and fill plugs.

    The TSM shows the following for my 2000 (note that the Gen 2 rear diff drain/fill plug torque is the same as Gen 1 at 36 lb-ft).

    Drain plug: 48 lb-ft
    Filler plug: 29 lb-ft

    Can anybody else confirm this?
