It looks like in the video the Lexus that turned right got clipped first, causing the perps vehicle to go airborne on one side before ramming the Tacoma.

I had way less damage done to my 08 this past January and it was over $10k. I didn't have the airbags go off or any of the side damage.

    It's totalled.

    Just a little update:

My insurance company just sent me some paperwork to sign so they can payoff the car with my lender.

They put the cash value on the vehicle at $33.9K, then added the cost of tax and license fee to bring the total settlement price to $37K. After $500 deductible, they will make a check out to $36.5K.

I can't wait for all these transactions to finish so I can go get another Taco. I've been car-less for 3 weeks.

Oh, and the other two idiots are still locked up awaiting trial in mid Sept.

Are you losing money at the $36500. What were you out the door on the total led one when you bought it?

I'm glad you two didn't get hurt. I'm also glad to see the insurance company fully reimbursed you so you can get a brand new truck.

i take it that the insurance company for the other car denied the claim and your insurance company paid for damages? is your company going after the driver for reimbursement?

also, i would (and have after i was hit by a drunk driver who left the scene) contact your company and insist that on your "CLUE" report the accident and payment is NOT LISTED as you being at fault. usually by default, if your company pays on a claim, ANY claim, on the CLUE you are listed as at fault. your CLUE report is just as important as your crdit report! it affects all of your insurance premiums, homeowners, boat, auto, RV, etc...

you can request a free CLUE report once a year just like your credit report. EVERYONE should request a copy EVERY YEAR, i found 6 errors on mine last year showing claims i did not make that were in other peoples names!

I've been on the fence whether to buy a dash cam or not. After seeing this video, I'll be ordering one on payday tomorrow. http://www.amazon.com/Black-Box-192...=UTF8&qid=1407465218&sr=8-1&keywords=dash+cam seems like a decent option.

As far as the truck goes, my vote is totaled (he probably said it somewhere in this thread...only got to page 2). Just very glad you and your family got out safe.
