Daystar, Toyota Tacoma 2.5" Lift Kit, fits 2005 to 2017 2/4WD, all transmissions, all cabs KT09130BK, Made in America, Black

Do you think I will need a carrier bearing drop or is it one of those wait and see type things? Who's the best (support sponsors) to get?

Shouldn't need a carrier bearing drop unless you get some bad vibes. Then the drop might help. And they are easy to make yourself.

 

Ordered my CB drop from Wheeler's. Not a bad thing to have in case you need it. If you don't, easy sell on here. GL and post pics OP

 

Just curious, how much does it drop the CB?

 

Was unable to find anything online..granted I only looked for about 10 min so I went out to measure the spacer on the rig:

2.5"L x 1.25"W x 3/8" thick

That should help anyone who can/wants to make their own too

Yeah I made my own and it was 3/8" drop and I thought it might be too much but I guess I'm good! They took 10 min to make

 

I don't understand it. With supercharger you're looking at close to a $40k truck and you're going to trust it to a $200 lift kit on Amazon? Good luck.

 

I kinda agree with the post above me. It looks like a lower end spacer lift.. I am not sure if you will realistically enjoy the ride it will give you.

I went with Bilstien all the way around and AAL in the rear. Still cost me just slightly more than what you posted and is a much higher quality lift than spacers.

Again, please don't take this as me bashing you or anything like that. I am simply giving my experience and .02

I had a spacer lift on my Chevy and it really made the truck ride a little clumsy feeling

 

Blocks and spacers are going to do nothing to improve your truck. Do a search here before installing. With a new truck and S/C you've got a lot of money tied up there - do yourself right and at least go with the above suggestion of 5100s and aal. Better yet get a 3 leaf progressive aal. Also, with a new truck, you should be able to sell the stock shocks and recoup a few bucks.

 

Can't imagine how bad the axle wrap is going to be with blocks and a supercharger. Yikes.

 

Point well taken I can just return the lift minus shipping ing. Forgive my ignorance, but how difficult is the 5100 install? Where is the best place to get 5100 all the way around and 3progressive aal? Do I use my stock spring and just the adjustable shock?

Also I have a single 1.5" aal that I could use instead of the block.

 

You could order them through toytec, wheelers, DSM, HeadStrong etc. Probably all close in price but depending on where you are located (I'm on Tapatalk) you can go with whomever is closer to keep the over all cost down due to shipping.

 

I had a spacer lift at first and upgraded to 5100s. So much better. Take the advice!

 

OK I ordered this http://bilsteinlifts.com/shop/05-and-up-tacoma/bilstein-adjustable-lift-kit-with-5100-shocks/ but did not select the option for new top plates, can I just use my stock ones or do I need to contact them. I hope you guys are right and it's not to stiff.

OK, Another re-do. Cancelled total Bilstein kit b/c of backorder issues and through a TREMENDOUS amount of help from "tacoma off course" piecemealed a kit together. 5100's probably @ 0 on the front and 5100 on rear, OME 885 coils, Toytec progressive rear pack and 1 DS shim b/c of the taco lean. That should give me quality parts, adjustability and a softer ride. I dont have a winch or bull bar and haul/tow nothing. will run 285/75r16 BFG ATs 4.5BS @0 rims
Do you think I'll need axle shims, brake line extensions or carrier bearing drop (remember MALL CARAWLER)?

I did 5100s, 884s, Icon 3 leaf, and needed the CB spacer to get rid of small vibes.
and definately leave the 5100s at 0.
