I agree rick. You should put them forward of the tires so they light the ground in front of the tires so you can see what you are putting the tires on. You have giant tire shadows.

Getting Michelin LTX MS2's put on at costco right now. 265/70/17. They are going to be replacing my Bridgestone dueler 684II's that came with the truck which only have 31k miles and falling apart. Since reading these forums over I've come to these tires as best. If i had a 4x4 and went off road often, I'd probably be going with the revos.

Guys...I hear ya. BUT! The fronts are mounted at the edge of the fender aiming slightly forward. If tucked any further back in the well or higher up top the fender lip would cut the light off. The centers are wide open...so good. Rears...tucked back against the bed liner center angled down in a 45. TW member Defconbrix has his fenders trimmed up three inches, so he can throw out more light. Believe me...I spent a lot of time moving the lights around before mounting them. The optimal way would be to build a bracket suspended over the top of the wheel facing outward...but we know there's no chance in hell that shit is ever happening due to wheel travel...lol

Edit: He also has a front high clearance bumper...I don't...YET...:D I might re-evaluate the whole light thing with the wheel well. If mounted anywhere else...they will be side markers...:)

You should take them out of the wheel wells all together. How many lights are in the kit?

Inside the bumpers facing down and along the frame rails works better.

    There are 6 lights...

You have a point! I tend to agree after reevaluating. I def don't want them too visible otherwise they would just be surface mounted on the outside...lol Obscurity was part of the equation as well as function...but I will re-assess the front and rears and look for alternative placement. Thanks for weighing in! Now I have something to do today...lol:p

Good luck with getting the lights in the right spot. Six lights is a little short for lighting up the entire under carriage, but it's a good start.

I have thirteen lights under the truck. :D

Looks great Nathan! I think I will have better luck when I get the high clearance bumper as I can mount the front one next to the bumper supports so it will be un-obscured then. You def have the ground lit up with your setup! I don't really need the whole under carriage lit, but enough to the sides to provide decent lighting at night. The wheels are def an issue with the light cast though and are obviously not optimal for placement. Ordering the new Pelfreybilt alum bumper that was just finished and I know I'll be able to get a better mounting solution once that baby is on...:D I'll be putting on some additional lights as well, so light shortage won't be an issue in the future... Thanks for posting your pics!

I dipped mine cause I had some left over after doing my rear bumper...didn't hold up on the tailpipe....ended up painting it with high temp paint.

Disagree. Six is plenty, as long as they're the correct lights, correct pattern, mounted in the correct places.
