I went to the touch less car wash today and i thought the pressure was going to crease my sheet metal! Man these trucks are thin skinned, i could hear the top popping as it made its passes , and when the dryer went by the hood flexed what seemed to be 1/4 inch.
I will be hand washing from now on!!!!

I took my Tacoma to the automatic carwash. All these cute little girls drying my ride. But those brushes are bad for the paint so, I wash and wax on my own now!

My stock answer to that 1 is Toyota strives to give you as much truck as they can while saving as much weight as possible...what suffers in the equation? The sheetmetal, which is a few gages thinner than your chevy's. This is the ONLY thing that sucks about my truck too. Very thin skinned indeed. Look at a 1st gen truck like mine that's a doublecab: looks substantial, long, tough, even heavy-only weighs in stock at around 3700lbs, mine's about 4100 w/shell, exhaust mod, sprayon liner, bullbar. We weigh less than a Crown Vic!

The paint is thin and not durable at all. Doesn't take much to chip it off.

I was coming back from a concert at the Arena and the wind was blowing hard. I freaking cardbord box comes flying at my sweet new Tacoma. Hits it right in front of the rear wheel well. YEP, there's a chip of paint missing.
