Amazing trip as Joe said, great meeting everyone that came, awesome people. Only thing that broke on my truck was the trailer hitch wire plug in but not a big deal. Slept really well in the back and made it up fine stock. Time to go through the pictures

Yesss! Awesome pics Joe. We made it down just fine this morning, got to the Fire Road and took that down to the main road, and smashed out. That was a solid trip, nice to meet you guys and hope we can do it again soon!

P.S. i probably have 30 mosquito bites. it was brutal!

Finally got them sorted through.. Left camp at about 9:30am and didn't get back to a paved road until about noon or later (followed a very slow truck pulling a 5th wheel). Could not have found a better camp spot with a view of Ellensburg to the East and Mount Rainier to the South-South West. Met up at Safeway in Ellensburg and left at about 9:20. Only hit my frame on one rock :D Oh and thanks again Joe and Sarah for the bug spray! Would have been 10x worse without it!

Rolling up i90 with @cgredler, @penguins_cc and @GSPRunner, everyone else was behind.

I think this one will happen again next year Andrew. I am going to try to hit it then. You should too and I will see if I can remember to bring along some cider for you. My wife and sister in law are also gluten free, so I look for craft cider for them occasionally then we can enjoy some cold ones together.

This trip seems to be an annual thing. What would be really awesome would be starting at Gallagher Head lake, then continuing on to the Liberty trails and have a couple few day trip. Liberty was my first ever offroad trip that I did in my stock truck when they said have 32s, lift, and some armor. As long as one is somewhat careful, it can be done stock.

Not to sound mean, but it is an open invite to anybody (with a Toyota or Toyota family vehicle), so it isn't special treatment, however if you come along, I will try to remember to give you some special treatment out there by tying your truck to a tree or getting you slightly intoxicated. :D

Well a funny thing happened on my way down the mountain Saturday afternoon. I was going down a one lane trail and along comes a Volkswagen Westphalia. I pulled off and they let me know there were 4 more Westphalias behind them. [scratching my head] So a second one goes by and as the third approached it stalled on the trail. That led to a confluence of the Westphalia club (a hippie dude, a guy who looked like BrettBretterson, a patriarch-type, his daughter and a couple other dudes). They made some comment about fuel vent and flooding. A vent was opened on the side and unleaded started shooting out the side.

At this point I backed up and winched him into my spot. Then he offered me a beer from his fridge for my troubles exclaiming, "at least my fridge still works!" Then I went on my way. A bit further down I wandered upon an old photo spot from an earlier TW trip so stopped to take a pic. A bit further down I realized the beer had spilt and was being contained by my 3D floor mat which also contained my CB. OK whatever stuff happens.

I get down to the air down spot and open my rear door... right into my damn face. Stagger around for a bit and start airing up but of course blood then begins streaming down my face. Thank goodness for my first aid kit to stem the flow.

Otherwise had an awesome time. Post pics later!

On our way out this morning, we suddenly came across a strong gas odor. So strong it prompted me to get out and make sure I wasn't leaking. That has to be where that VW leaked.

You got off easy with the bug bites. With no exaggeration, I have at least 75 bites.

We didn't smell any gas but the bugs got worse as the morning went on. Not sure how bad they were when you got up but right after you left as I got up they started. So bad I couldn't even lay in my truck in piece without swatting them every 2 seconds. I literally have about 40-50 all over.

But I didn't notice that jeep this morning by the lake that broke down, did you Joe?

They seemed worse this morning to me too. We did see a black Jeep off to the side down by the lake with no one in it and no tents nearby...

hmm weird.. I looked and that Lexus was gone too. I did find where the road goes if you keep going straight instead of turning up to the top like we did. Goes across the valley and up the side where the red rock was. Not quite that high but that area

To all of you covered in bug bites, go buy a banana. Peel it, eat the banana, and rub the inside of the peel on your bug bites to help take away the itch. If you don't like that method, get a spoon hot using hot water from the faucet, and put it hold it over bug bites. The heat will help break down the part of the mosquito saliva that we are all allergic to.

I have some really nice line to tie it so you will have a hard time getting away without cutting it. I would only do this in a nice way to a Toyota. If it were a jeep, I would chain it to a tree using multiple chains and padlocks, that way it will have a difficult time getting stuck on the trails.

Are you implying you don't drink, or you have an extremely high tolerance for alcohol? One of my electrician friends can drink whiskey all day and all night without any issue. 2 shots of rum and she is done for. I have a way of finding the weak spot.
