For the past year I have dealt with my truck literally feeling like I'm getting rear ended everytime I slow down or the truck switches gears. Toyota told me multiple times, different locations too.TOO REPLACE MY DRIVE SHAFT. Of course I kept looking for a solution. So finally I said screw it and took it to a mechanic I knew in the area. Checked it out and said your shifting solenoid in tranny needs replacing and it should fix problem. There you have it problem solved. Happiest day of my life.

Was going to sell truck if it kept doing this.

Respond if you have had this issue

A guy I work with had something like this in his Tundra. He got the tranny fluid changed a bit late and it totally went away. Maybe try that out :notsure:

x2..This would great news to those that have experienced the infamous Tacoma clunk/lurch. Mine used to do it quite often until I removed the 1.5" lift blocks for full leaf packs(axle wrap). Now it occurs pretty rare but it's probably from the transmission downshifting to 1st after a complete stop, which is normal.

Which solenoid exactly was the one that caused the issue? ?

I am having the same as I come to a slow and complete stop, much more pronounced with A/C running !

Below are the solenoinds listed for our automatic transmissions . . .

I know you're a transmission tech and was reading a few articles (The tech with the wrangler shifting problem) and I have to say I have a better and higher respect for you guys with the type of work you do.
