I will explain it: If you like throwing money in a hole, I submit to you... my pocket. Throw your money there... please!

If you're perfectly fine spending $1500 bucks to alter the sound of your truck, either you got more money than you do sense, or you're just not very good with money.

I believe there is no right or wrong answer to this question. I personally just went through this last week when it was finally time to replace the stock exhaust on my '06. I never saw a reason to pay money just to pay money. After 8 years it was just time. My truck needed new piping...etc, so when all was said and done I chose to put on a Flowmaster Series 50 with 2 1/2" in and 3" all the way out. I chose to keep my exhaust on the passenger side just like stock. By going with a little larger inlet and outlet I got a very nice low performance rumble. In my opinion it does breathe a little better than stock, but minimal. I chose not to go with a cat back dual because the pipe on the drivers side is so long that it never heats up enough and will rot out a lot faster. I like all of us have my opinion, which is neither right or wrong. I believe we are all here because of our love for our TACOMA'S! Exchanging ideas and experiences is what makes this great! OP, I sure hope you find what you are looking for?!

Thank you all for your opinions, I have decided it best to swap the muffler to a borla and remain with stock pipings I did before, seems to be the most practical financially as well as knowing that I love the sound it made. I'm new to tacoma world, but have found this site to be an awesome resource for valid information and different opinions about mods. Mahalos everyone for response. ;)

Well, if you're doing all that it may make sense. You'll likely see gains in HP. What I was referring to is just changing the cat back.

If it is necessary to replace the stock exhaust, an upgrade wouldn't be so bad. But what I did was remove a perfectly good stock exhaust and replaced it with another that only changed how my car sounded. Looking back, I feel a bit foolish for doing so.

What brand headers did you go with? Did you change them yourself? I'm going to do change entire system eventually but no until eom is worn out. lmk if you get a chance?

MBRP. I like duals too. Well engineered and fit perfectly. Bought the stainless version from an eBay vendor with free shipping for no more than some say they paid for the TRD. Added a Vibrant resonator. Would buy another.
