thats pretty bad, look on the inside of your frame up by the front cats, if there is a bubble, try pressing or tapping it and I bet it crumbles.

I guess mine qualifies for a new frame. Best get to calling the dealer now. I have a hole in my cab mount. I will add a picture later.pe8ugyba_c25c6d0cc7df9bebe9c0929cae318f3adfe475d5.jpg

for me the driver side looks fine but the passenger side is crumbling. My mechanic said it wouldn't pass a safety ispection, meaning if I was to try and sell my truck I would have to fork over for a new frame. No way in hell Im letting that happen, they're replacing it whether they want to or not when I talk to them on tuesday.

Yes and no. The vehicle had to be in one of the harsh climates, such as a previous poster who's truck was in Canada for years then he bought it and moved to a non-approved state. The VIN triggered his letter to be sent based on the history of the truck. But yes, if your VIN is on the list, you can take the truck to any approved state for the inspection, frame spray or frame replacement. That is what is written in the official document I received.

Talked to Toyota corporate today....well, she read me the contents of the E0D campaign letter. But, for some reason my VIN isn't triggering the recall?!? I was given a case number & told to take it to my local dealer (NY). She also said there is no reason to take it to VT where I purchased it for an inspection.

Sounds like a lot of BS coming my way...I'll do the inspection, they'll note the rust, flaking & corrosion w/ perforation.....but it sounds like I'll get a SOL response!

Yes I see an atty in my future!

Lmk how it goes! I'm contemplating a trip to Bennington since I bought it there...most of my dealer service was done in Riverhead & maybe 2-3 local Albany, ny visits...

Made an appt for tm morning at local dealer, Albany, NY. He seemed surprised that there was a hole...he also said that no other 05+'a had been in for an inspection. I suspect he is lying because there are 4 frames stacked up behind the building!

Hey, I just saw those there. I also went there and asked if there was a recall on the frame (before I saw this thread). They said no but they would look at the frame and they could fix it ( at my expense ). They said it would take 45 minutes to look at it and I was in a rush so I didn't have them do it. Now that I saw this thread, I am going to schedule an inspection today.

This was at Lia in Colonie...I'm having them do some recalls hoping I don't have to pay for the frame inspection. One thing I've noticed on Toyota owners site is the fine print where it says that Limited Service Campaigns WILL NOT show up under the VIN# on that site!! Yet every dealer says that nothing shows up under the vin therefore there must not be a LSC/recall

Just had mine inspected at a dealership. They confirmed that there was a hole and took pictures to get it approved by headquarters? Suppose to get a call back from the dealership or headquarters on the next step. The impression I got from the service manager is that they will eventually approve it. Quote from him was if headquarters gives you flak, give flak back but don't be rude about it. If your rude they might just say forget you... I guess only time will tell

I know this is expanding State by state, does anyone have an updated list of which states are approved? Just had mine in for a new wheel bearing this weeks, and it is not in NJ yet.

Nothing yet. They just opened the campaign to Canada so who knows? Next year? Maybe they'll wait until March 29, 2016 before they open it to the rest of the States on the list.

If you're rude then they'll say forget you, huh? That's one way to build customer loyalty and repeat business. My experience at the shittership over my frame has put me off from ever buying a toyota again.
