You're wrong on that. Its Open to Va Line as of this past Saturday. I've been down there the last 2 weekends. Saturday it was Off on Line. So the family and I went to the beach there at the park, and a storm rolled through, scared a bunch of people away. We were going to leave as well, but the rain never really came so we decided to check out the OSV and it was opened up. Line had gone.

It is a bit on the expensive side. Its now $90 for a day use OSV pass. Then its $30 for a year gate vehicle pass. But I go down about 6 times a year for several days at a time, so I tend to usually get my moneys worth.
I'll be heading back down last week of Aug for the whole week. I can't wait!

If you're looking to really wheel on the sand, that won't happen. The dunes are off limits and most trails going away from the actual beach are authorized vehicles only. And Rangers patrol somewhat. Only saw their truck twice and I was there for about 3 hours on the sand.
Its only a 15mph area, so no ripping down the beach. I was doing maybe 28mph and some fishermen got belligerent at me over it.

So its nice, but you have to weigh the good and bad.
Its great for the family cause we can just throw all our beach stuff in truck and go. Get to a nice open spot, and just pile out. no hauling the chairs and everything "miles" from the street to the sand.

While we were there we also replaced the BPV Valve and lines! They looked like a medium sized wind might blow them away with all the rust on them!
    It was quite the job!

Pulled a trailer for the first time today. Not as hard as people make it out to be but certainly not easy to back up. I've got some learning to do :)

    Anyone ordered anything from Wheelers?

I'm ordering my AAL and rear 5100's this week so I can install them next week. trying to decide if I should do now or wait until I get paid friday. I don't want to wait and then shipping take forever.. lol

Yup after a while you learn to just drive normal with it back there, backing up is all about the practice. I just towed my boat from Baltimore to Ocean City with my 1st gen 4cylinder! That was not a fun ride!

Gah. I guess I'll be doing it tomorrow then. Too lazy to get my computer back out now lol wheelers is a lot cheaper than everyone else though.

Someone needs to open up an east coast dealer. They'd probably be pretty well off because people wouldn't be paying an arm and a leg for shipping lol

problem is that only half the states on the east coast seem to be wheeler friendly, all the others are uptight and have closed everything down. but yes, wheelers beats the crap outta everybody else on the price for the most part
