I'm running 04 Tacoma front disk brakes on it. Waiting on the UPS dude to bring hoses with banjo fittings and the rest of the stuff to plumb in a wilwood proportioning valve. I hope it works... The FJ and 4runner have disks in the rear, if the prop valve doesn't work I might try to find out what's different between the taco and FJ brake systems and swap that part in... I would imagine the master cylinder is different but don't know.

Yeah. And I did it in an RV park in the middle of the desert. No garage, no concrete floor, no shade. Used a cordless drill to power a notcher, grinder with some cut off wheels, and a $400 tube bender to do it. Under a grand worth of tools. Hillbilly fab is my specialty.

I also didn't know how to weld when I started this build. I just started welding and learned along the way. Might not look to pretty, but it's a strong joint.

I remember MJP2 saying something about when he converted to rear disks the tacoma master cylinder just doesnt have the strength to push 4 discs, I am thinking he swapped MC's because he wasnt happy with it, its been awhile though cant remember

Im running rear discs. Using ford lincoln rear calipers and chevy front rotors. Stock master works fine, just took some time to bleed it.

You aren't running any proportioning valve? If you jam on the brakes in the dirt does the rear lock first? It is my understanding that all things the same going from drums to four piston disks require less pressure. Like if I just plumbed into the disk brakes with my stock lines the rear would lock up long before the front. I'll be able to answer these questions myself if the fking ups guy ever shows up! I hate waiting.

Nope no proportioning valve, front still locks up first. Just have to make sure the piston size match the rest of the system.

Well shit maybe I'll try it without a prop valve and see what happens.

I'm running no valve (yet) and my rear locks up immediately. With 2 35" spares, and a full tank, it still locks up right away.

Dana 35 but it can be upgraded to Dana 44. I wanted to keep my lug pattern the same.

Making some progress. I underestimated the time it would take to run brake lines. Going from M10x1.0 to 3/8 and back again is a pita. I wish the rest of the world used freedom units like we do. Dumbasses. :D
