Applied for my Passport this weekend. Anybody know how long it generally takes to get one back? The lady at the post office says 4 weeks, but they said that about my CCW permit and that took nearly three months to get back, haha!

 

It really depends. I got mine in 2 weeks (and I didn't pay to expedite) but I think that was because I've done work on federal projects that required a background check and finger printing. I think already being in their system moved me along pretty quickly. Family members who applied at the same time I did, for the same trip, took closer to 6 weeks. This was all a few years ago also so I'm not sure how much of a backlog there is.

 

I think mine took 2 months, but that was way back in 2007.
