Polished the headlight lenses, fresh fluid in the rear differential and power steering, rotated the tires, checked the brakes, and gave her a good cleaning.

Do s-turns, go in reverse and turn. If that doesn't work lift the rear axle, put it in 1st, and engage the locker and see if it will engage.

If this doesn't work there are a couple write ups on disassembling the actuator. i tried several times and it turned out my motor was burnt out. Luckily I swapped actuators after a member totaled his truck.

    Good info:

It technically has to be in gear because it requires movement most of the time to get the axle to match up and lock.

For me I always have to have the clutch pedal depressed or have it in neutral to shift into 4L.

Then once I start rolling it actually engages.

To formalize what a bunch of folks have already said:
    1. put in neutral
    2. engage 4LO
    3. press locker button
    4. roll forward (<5mph)
If it doesn't lock up after 50 ft try various combinations of:
    a. rolling forward
    b. going in reverse
    c. steering left/ right in various degrees of swoopy maneuvers.

If that doesn't work, might be time to pull the actuator and test it.

I have a budy with a 2gen that had the same issue, previous owner never used it. We took the actuator apart, cleaned it and greased it up. Put it back in and it worked perfectly. Good luck.

You get these types of alignments when you get the "lifetime" alignment at brake check or similar corporate companies. My experience hasn't been good. The first alignment I had was good and maybe one other but it was done by a tech who knew his stuff about lifted and lowered vehicles. I've had over 10 alignments done within the last year and a half due to a bunch of different mods/ suspension and steering repairs. Up until recently I've told them what numbers I want and they get close but now it takes about an hour instead of 10 minutes.

Does anyone know if the smaller fender flares off a 99(the ones that dont use clips) will cover the fender flare holes on an 03?

The holes for the bigger flares are like a half inch or so up from the bottom lip of the fender. How wide are the smaller flares?

To be honest i cant give you a acurate measurement, if i had to guess maybe 1.5 2 inches
Theyre my friends but he may let me have them if theylle cover the holes that will be shown if i remove my fender flares
They are plastic NOT the chrome trim looking pieces that just run along the lip of the fenders

what you COULD do is remove the flares and cut the fenders so they top is inline with the top of the holes, giving you more clearence

My flares are off, I can measure for you tomorrow.

So your saying just cut the fender out just above the holes?
    If so that work
