looking at getting my first Toyota I was under the impression that doubles are made in Mexico. I found a brand new one online that is made in the USA. Do they now make double cabs here in the USA?
    TIA

I believe some are made in Baja and some are made in San Antonio. Mine was made in the Freemont, CA plant before it was relocated to Texas.

How do you know it is made in the US? On the door jam sticker, does it say "made in Texas" or "made in TMMTX"? And you are mostly correct, as they only make Double Cabs in Mexico (along with all the beds). They don't make Access or Regular cab trucks down in Mexico. But they make all style trucks in Texas.
    Hopefully this is helpful!

Mine was from San Antonio. I actually called the factory (well the visitor's center) to try to get someone to takes some pics of my truck as it went down the assembly line. Kinda like my truck in the womb....I know, sad....and my request was denied anyway.

All models are made in both plants. I.e. DC are also made in the US. You can tell what country any vehicle is made in by the VIN. If it starts with 1, 4, or 5 it's the US. 3 is Mexico.

I have never found a Tacoma reg cab or access cab locally made in Mexico only US. Double cabs locally have always been made in Mexico. As for th VIN number info. I have known that for :eek:20Yrs. I try educating the local I only buy American made that there made in Mexico American vehicle is not US made.
    Thanks

It matters to some people I am not union never have been. I have owned Mazda B series aka Ford ranger trucks. I was just curious because I have been searching these for years. I am now in a position to afford one I can get Doxge trucks cheaper:cool:. Just do not like anything they have. I am downsizing from my current Dodge Ram my best no problem vehicle ever.
    Thanks

    Things I need to tow.
Wikipedia says the Tijuana plant only makes V6 DC models, as well as the composite beds for all models (which are shipped to San Antonio). The San Antonio plant makes all models. I've seen V6 DC models from both plants but regular and Access cabs only from San Antonio. (My DCLB was made in Tijuana.)
