I'm on the Medical team for Saturday. Portland TM for Saturday had sold out. its gonna be crowded that day.
You should look into the Spartan Race as well. I'll be doing that race race this Saturday in Vancouver for the Medical team as well

I'd rather have Jack in the box over I&O, Dicks, or 5 guys

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I heard you like a jack in your box. But I'm surprised you don't want 5 guys or a dicks...

I'm not much of a runner, but I try. I did Dirty Dozen in Albany Oregon. I had a good deal of strength all the way through, but my endurance sucked.
I have a hard time making my workouts a daily thing due to trying to feel motivated (I get motivated by having other people I know do things with me) and fit it in with keeping the house clean and feeding myself (I'm not good with making dinner efficiently :p). I'm going to check out some crossfit gyms once I get some stuff off my chore list. I went to one on the west side and wasn't really impressed, the guy wasn't very good and ensuring people had good form without hurting themselves.

We will have to see. TM is kind of up there on the difficulty scale from what I've heard.

I have never truly trained for TM. If you can go on a 10 mile hike, you can do TM. While endurance kind of does matter, you don't have to run the course. I did it in about 3.5 hours the first year, and more like 4-4.5 last year. Everybody helps everybody along the way, and the goal is to finish, especially as a team, not to go for time records.

I think I did dirty dozen in 4:12 and I jogged for the first half where there weren't obstacles. Half the course was a mud slog and that really killed it.

Mike, Warrior Dash is fun. I did the one in Oregon last year, not very challenging IMO. It's a great way to enjoy the obstacles with friends and enjoy some booze and hot mudders afterward. I'm not a strong runner myself and, like Zach said, we're all there to have fun.

I'll be totally down next year for a TW event, I'm a little sad I only got one adventure under my belt this year :(

There's a event call Race The Reaper that is a 10k held at Yamhill if you're ever in town during that time. I haven't done that one but that is on top of my list with TM and Spartan Race.

Mitch, will you be running Spartan Race or are you out there to tend to injuries?

So, the Tacoma has developed some overheating issues. Runs warm when running on flat ground and spikes when there is a hill. Going downhill it cools down. It does have enough coolant in it.

I tried washing the radiator down as best I could with it still in the truck, but it is still running warm. I'm going to pull the radiator out to thoroughly wash out any crap that might be clogging it and it will change the fluid and thermostat.

Any ideas what might be the issue if that doesn't fix it? Maybe the fan clutch is going out?

Also, has anyone heard of someone fitting a larger radiator in the 1st gens?

For sure check the fan clutch. Also make sure your shroud isn't busted up and the water pump isn't pissing out of the weep hole. I bet it's the fan clutch. Don't put an electric one on it. I went through several of them before I figured out they don't like water. Flush the radiator and if it flows well and doesn't leak there is no need to replace it.

Ive been looking into things like TM and Warrior Dash more often. Getting a team together next year for either the Seattle or Portland one would be cool. Do you know if theres a little discount if a bunch of us signed up as a team?

The shroud is missing the bottom clip-on part, but its been that way for years. I haven't seen any leakage from the water pump. It better be good, changed it when the timing belt got done just to be safe. How do I check the fan clutch? Its spinning at idle when I check it. Put someone in the truck to work the accelerator while I watch it?

    $90k Tundra...

OMG Mrs. Renfro, you are a total bitch. Medium hot my ass.

Rob, that truck doesn't have anything silly like a bleeder on the coolant lines does it? My old Honda had a pitcock to bleed out air and if you didn't tend to it after a coolant change, it would act just like you are talking about.

Run it till it's at operating temp then shut it down and spin the fan. There should be quite a bit of resistance. If it spins easy, replace it. Or you could just forgo all that and replace it. It's not a very expensive part.

How much is it without fucked up springs from axle wrap?

There is a discount available for larger teams. I want to say there are 3 discount levels all based on how many people are on your team. I can honestly say that TM is probably more than what most people would go for. If we were to do a big group, we would probably be better off doing something more like a 10k mud run. Also, TM has events in both "Portland" (Lebanon) and "Seattle" (Black Diamond). I'm sure there are other shorter events in both places as well.

About 3 more weeks to go...

It's been interesting getting instructions/being dispatched by a new fleet manager this year... The plan for where I'll be heading today just changed 4 times in 10 minutes.
