The TRD Pro 4Runner MSRP will be $41,110
The Tacoma is priced at $37,415 for the 4X4 Double Cab AT

Cheaper than a baja I guess, love the color too I just still wouldn't buy one.

that'll be the big debate...for a build fresh off the dealer's lot, it's a great package for not too bad of a price.

but for the price, you could buy a lesser package and build it yourself and come out with something possibly better. but you don't get that color :D

from people i've been talking with, the bilstein tuning in amazing with these Pro series...wouldn't be a bad upgrade to a current stock tacoma/4R/Tundra if you could buy just the suspension components...

The TRD Pro 4Runner is actually priced pretty well considering the following:

Trail Edition Premium costs $41k plus or minus.

TRD Pro comes with all the features of trail premium + better suspension, better tires and wheels, exclusive color option, TRD pro badging & floormats & shifter, TRD skid plate, better front end (IMO)

So why spend $41k on a Trail Edition Premium when you can buy a TRD Pro for the same price and get all the same features plus the TRD Pro features.

This makes me feel even better about not waiting to buy the 2015, and picking up my 2014 DCSB Sport. That's $5k upcharge for the newer model. Not worth it to me.

I am waiting to see what Toyota does with the Tacoma since it is starting to lose a little bit of market share to other competitors. Don't get me wrong, I love the truck to death, but we need to see some upgrades that will make it more modern and able to keep up with the others

Stuff I am waiting to see on a Tacoma are:

Stock projector headlamps (possible xenon upgraded option)
LED Daytime Running Lights (see it on a lot of the full sized trucks now)
Better interior layout and navigation system (can be slow at times)

I think having these things, along with a redesign, will make the Tacoma more appealing. Just my 2 cents though.

As someone who bought a Baja I think they are pretty awesome. The shocks were pretty sweet. The fronts are way better than a 5100 setup and the rear 5160s have a resi and extend to 25". I have put it through it's paces and added weight, wheeled it, added heavier coils, bigger spring seat, swapped leafs, added more armor....etc. I know what Baja's can handle and it is a hell of a lot more than a stock truck. Plus the wheels are cool. You are paying a premium for Toyota to build it for you, but I financed it. I didn't have an extra $5000 laying around to buy wheels and a suspension. That is what you would need to have a comparable suspension and aftermarket wheels. You get more lift? for $300 you can get an extra inch out of the Baja without hurting the ride quality.

My issue was when I decided I wanted to do a lot more than basic stuff. Had I known how much I was going to modify my truck I would have just bought base 4x4 or TRD OR. I would put the pro or Baja against any 5100 lift any time. They will last longer and ride smoother. I have been in both. Once you decide you want 35s full armor, and Icons.. then you begin to waste your money.

It is actually a little higher but I am sure some of the increase is across the board on the model year. I wonder if it has the cheap rearview mirror?

Considering you could get a loaded full size for 45k, not worth it. And that's before rebates. Toyota doesn't do that, maybe that's why they are the largest auto manufacturer

The article says it has springs that add 2" of lift... Does it have the Baja suspension or just the TRD billsteins with taller springs?

it has a completely new suspension specifically designed for the pro models

new valving on the bilsteins and springs that bring it to a 2" lift...this suspension is only on the pro models
